I am avid fan of Knights of the Dinner Table (KoDT). I would love to discuss this magazine/comic. Feel free to talk about any and all things KoDT.

K&C bought 2E and turned it into Hackmaster.

It is nice to see that there are a few KoDT fans in the NS community. Welcome to the thread!

Lunatic Golfballs, I think I have seen you use the "I waste 'em with my crossbow" in a few of your other posts so I knew you would be answering the call of this thread. Thank you.

Gun Manufacturers, I loved the "Fireball coming on line" quote. I think I saw a quote from someone in a D&D thread mentioning something about bouncing betty fireballs coming online. I am not sure if it was you. Thank you for entering the discussion. Since, you were the first to mention something in reference to Brian's "fireballs coming on line B.A" comment, i thought I would share something personal with you. I too am a real life B.A. in that those are my initials.

Kecibukia, how the heck did you choose the name "Kecibukia"? Anyway although I do not think that Sara is hot (I do not like short hair on women) I do share your appreciation for KoDT. Thank you for joining the discussion.

KoDT has been on my mind lately because I am a subscriber and I keep going to my mailbox each day in eager anticipation of the next issue. Has it came out and I missed it or what?

I though that as an icebreaker I would start off by asking you guys to tell me who some of your favorite characters are and some of your least favorite characters. If you feel like explaining your choices go for it. Nothing KoDt related is off topic.

K&C bought 2E and turned it into Hackmaster.

Was it really 2E or was it 1E? I heard it was 1E through my limited access to teh gamer grapevine. Have you ever played hackmaster? I have not yet had the privilege. However, I guess I kind or have since I played AD&D 1E and AD&D 2E.

Do you like the comic? Do you like the other articles? I personally think that the mag would be greatly improved if it had a lot less articles and even just a tiny bit more comic. Although every comic needs some space for comments and discussions from / between readers and writers.

"Kecibukia" is an anagram.

I've been reading it since around issue 30. I don't keep up w/ the website too much but do a mass purchase of issues and specials about twice a year.

My favorite was the Hackmaster and SpaceHack crossover.

It's 2E all the way. I agree w/ you. I prefer more comic and less "magazine".

I think that Patty's Perps, the Knights, and the Black Hands are the only groups that are really funny. I know that the Perps aren't as develloped as characters but it makes me crack up when Patty sends players to the time out chair in the corner or rewards them with certain colors of m&ms used to record EPs (forgive me if I ever call EPs "XPs" I tend to call them that).

We'll forgive you this time. Next time it's the hubcap of shame and the walk of 1000 4'siders.

In my role playing life, I think I'm a cross between Dave and Bob. I think the Knights and the Black Hands are the 2 funniest groups, although the Knights (with Johnny) was funny in a different way.

In my role playing life I think I am a Dave. It would be fun to be a Stevil though.

My favorite KODT moment was when Dave got a magic wand that could do a lot of cool stuff but if it was ever destroyed it exploded for something like 300 d12 points of damage. The Knights were gaming and Dave was totally oblivious to what was going on in the game as he was marvelling over this powerful wand. Then Dave was attacked by some minor monster and started tweaking at the thought that he was attacked and responded by breaking the wand over his knee.

There was also a mention of the sledgehammer of oblivion that was used to smask dice that rolled poorly. I think that the sledgehammer of doom came with a footnote that described how some gaming group actually had a sledgehammer of oblivion and would use it on dice in one of the guy's garage. Hillarious. I wonder what a d12 looks like after being placed on an anvil and smashed with a sledgehammer.

I loved the magic item "Gnome-sized pink leggins of speed." I would be hard put to think up a gayer magic item. To make a Southpark reference, that is gayer than a huge orgy pile of naked rednecks screwing each other.

I share Bob's enthusiasm for playing games. However, I would never play in a pee wee league of elementary school age gamers.

I like the comic, but when the ads and Non KODT things ended up taking up half the book... I stopped buying them.

...of course back in the day EP were Electrum Pieces.

Yes those were the days... But of course, because people are getting dumber everything had to become simpler. It was a sad day when electrum pieces were no longer recognized as legal tender in D&D. I think this is particularly sad because electrum has the distinction for being the metal used in the oldest known coins -- the Lydian Lions.

Does anybody think that Sara is not hot? Although now that you mention it, she does have a nice rack. I think that girl that likes Bob is much hotter.

Does anybody know why it has taken so freaking long for me to get the latest KODT issue? I know that sometimes the comic comes out a bit late but I think I have been waiting for a long time.

I also have the complete set of the KoDT: Hack! card game from Eden Studios. Loads of fun, especially with a full gang of 5.

A shame that the promised expansions with The Black Hand Gang and Dork Tower seem to have died out.
