some nutjob has clearly decided that blowing up speed cameras is not enough. now he's sending letter bombs. some people are just fucking scary :eek: . luckily no-one's been killed yet, but i do think the police guy that called this the work of a "disgruntled motorist" was using the Great British Understatement rather liberally!

i'm not sure letter bombs are quite in the vein of robin hood. now, if they'd raided the dvla and emptied their safe to distribute the money to fined motorists without endangering people's lives, that might be a modern robin hood tale.

Ah, speed cameras. They piss off motorists so much, you gotta love 'em.
I don't even care if there's a safety reason for putting them up. You speed, you pollute, you pay.

I think Top Gear's Hamster demonstrated (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je-OWx67g4E) quite nicely that all you'd have to do is be fast enough and you wouldn't have any problems... with the camera, that is. Motoring laws in Britain are a sodding joke, as are the driving tests. Frankly, the more gary boys, boy racers, accessory girls and other such morons that die on the roads, the better off the gene pool would be. Not that the DVLA merit letter-bombing in such a sustained, malicious and destructive fashion, but civil disobediance against any establishment under New Labour does make me want to reach for a celebratory drink.:)

Not sure you've really thought this through... people who die on the roads also include pedestrians, passengers, and okay drivers who just happened to be in the way of an idiot.
