MMO Valentine's Day Events...

I find them completely useless. You will probably notice that most every MMO out there has some kind of "Special Valetine Event" planned for Valentine's Day.

I simply have to ask them and everyone else:

Do you really think that the people who play these games ACTUALLY have anybody to celebrate Valentine's Day with?

Setting up e-penis shops? Or marketing the finest in online sex toys and devices?

I play an MMO and I have someone to celebrate with (not that we really "celebrate" or anything). So do many other people I know who play MMOs.

And that may well be what some of the SLers are doing.

1- Jenna Trailblazer of POTN
2 - yes, though not often. We see each other FAR more often than we play GW together, truth to tell.

Yes. During my period as an EverQuest player a couple people I typically hung out with on the server I played on were married. Also, it was during one of the rare times I was actually in a relationship. Not that the relationship had anything to do with EverQuest, because it didn't; it merely occurred at the same time I played EverQuest.

I am sooo glad I play Matrix Online, the only holiday events we have is Halloween and Christmas. They just ignore everything else.

I play City of Heroes, and it's dark companion City of Villains. And so does my wife. I like the holiday events.

I often do Tomb runs with either Kyrilliki Lightfoot, Priestess Ioanna or Etheral Eternity. I have 11 character slots, but they aren't Tombs compliant.

Look for me there during the day/night.

;) I play GW with my boyfriend frequently, in fact, we once had a GW based date.

I'm mostly annoyed that the game developers opt to steal real holidays when their worlds often have more than enough history to make their own.

It wasn't even Valentine's Day though, it was the '06 April Fools'.

I wonder what Max will come up with this time?

Also, I don't play MMORPGs, so it's a moot point. Unless NS counts, which I don't think it does.

Oh God, stay away from that one, Sony Online Entertainment screwed that game up sooo bad. If you go to mmorpg.com and look at what they have to say about SWG, you'll see what I mean.

Unless you already play SWG, then nevermind.

Yup, they do happen. That reminds me of a GW comic I saw once online. I can't find it now, but there's a male character talking to a female character, and the dialogue goes something like:

Guy: So, uh, you want to get coffee or something, sometime?
Girl: ...You know I don't look like this in real life, right?

I really wish I could find it. The female character was an elementalist (http://guildwars.gameamp.com/guildwars/viewArmor/0.php!set=93), iirc.

I've known many couples who played MMOs together.
