Just wanted to see what the fuss was about really, I've never seen an American Football match ebfore and I have to admit it was intresting. Not as good as Rugby or Football, of course, adn I understood very little about what waws going on, though by the third quater I had a gahlf decent idea about what was going on.

Anyway, thw point is that it's a good sport. It's certainly brutal, and I won't be making any more jibes about American football players being wuss's as if you did that stuff in rugby you would kill soemone, I hate all the stoppages though. If you made it mroe coninous then it would be an awsome game.

The main point of stopping after every play is to give the players a bit of a break. Thats a hell of a lot of work out there.

And if you like to see continued play, look up the "2 Minute Drill."

Thats a football term for the last two minutes of the half or game, where the offense trys to get as many plays of as possible to score, in hopes of tiring the other team's defense out. Very exciting.

Also, if you want to see brutality, look up "NFL Hits," in google video or Youtube.

I'll see if I can find a link for you.

Sorry for the music, its terrible. But those are good examples of Football's finest tackles.

Still it's only 2 minuates, in Rugby you have 40 minuates of near continious play, the only breaks being line-outs or peniltys. In football iyou get 45 minuates of continious play. The breaks just seem to spoil and breka up the action for me.

Wow. Some major hit sin there, but many just seem to be 'bounce off tackles.' the big ones are impressive, but most arn't that impressive, (Reamber, I'm looking froma rugby context here, you se ethouse sort of tackles all the time, though tecknically you have to attempt to grab your opponent) some of the 'spears' and the neck tackles are seriously nasty though.

One of the things that you couldn't get from that video is the crunch noises. When people get tagged that badly, even from the television you can hear it. The whole stadium goes quiet for just a second, then one giant "Ooooh," and everyone watching has the same grimace. Its like hearing a miniature train wreck.

:D It probably is, i know the feeling and I've seen that sort of thing in rugby whena big hit goes it, just the quietness, the gasp and then the cheering. It's an icnredable feeling. i guess many of the feelings 'on the terrances' in both sports are similar as they are very similar games. The celebration as a last minuate drop-goal (Are they called punts in Gridiron, I'm not sure. There was a feature in The Guardian but I can't reamber) and a try must be imilar to a touchown and a goal (or whatever) In Gridiron.

I am actually really intrested in goalkicking in Gridiron, its reltivly simialr to kicking in rugby, but you have an easier shot but less time.
