Best. Football game. Ever. Last minute goals from an Englishman, what an ending. I hugged about 1000 people and kiss a couple of chicks :fluffle: That was INSANE. Grand Final, here we come!

You stand corrected.

That being said, it may well have been the best domestic game ever. Though not having Foxtel, it's hard for me to tell.

In your face. Adelaide fans must have been so cut, they had it in the bag for 90 minutes, and then the Englishman fumbles one in.

Feh. Not such a great game. Any game that goes to penalties isn't that great.

Even in that case, the Germans only pulled level in the 90th minute. See, this game had everything, there is nothing one can criticise about it. Except maybe who won in the end, I guess.

Sure you can. The perfect game involves a winner in the dying seconds. That's what we had tonight.

It was an awesome game, I love the way the crowd just exploded when the 2nd goal went in. I was sitting there, chewing my nails, pretty much lost hope, when BANG! Such a great feeling. We're going to try to get tickets for the Grand Final too, even if it means queueing up for hours for them.

What happened to this though?

Last time I go to a domestic soccer match...

Pathetic. Really pathetic. If any other top ranked team in the world played like this, Man Utd, Werder, Inter, Sevilla, there would be HELL to pay.

Level 3, Aisle 33, Row J, Seat 76. I've got my ticket sitting on my desk. We were looking into the sun as it set, so it got very hot in the second half.

Ahh. I was Level 3, Aisle 6, Row C, Seat 46. I was the Jedi in my group; everyone else was moaning that it's over, but I was quietly watching, observing, waiting for Jimmy Robinson's chance to strike... :D

I was complaining that Merrick had left his substitutions too late, that he should have brought them on 10-15 earlier, and fervently hoping that he hadn't. I really thought the game had slipped away though. Some people were even leaving from about the 85 minute mark onwards. What fools they were!

Melbourne created a lot of opportunities, but didn't take enough shots, IMO. It's like they wanted to almost walk the ball into the goal, rather than take the shot. Time & again they got it into the box, then tried one final pass instead of going for goal.

The thing about Merrick's moves are that they either brilliant or messed up. It's was probably a good thing that Robinson came on at the time he did, he had the substitute's momentum. If anybody else was where Robinson was, they might not have got it in.

Yep, yep. Even after the second goal, Thompson could have gotten another one, but held it too long.

Exactly, they were three on two, but instead of burying it & completely sealing the game, they fiddled with it & Adelaide almost stole one back.

I think he left them to late (even though it did actually pay off). I think he should have brought them on with 10-15 minutes to go, not 5. 10-15 is enough time to run your guts out & make a difference, but not enough time to be too tired to when an opportunity arises.

Edit: Did you notice how everyone cheered when they started to use the wings in the second half, instead of trying to bash it through the middle all of the time?
