Ok, so a friend of mine gave us this string of letters, it's susspose to be three words, but I can't figure it out and neither can my other friends, so we were wondering if the great minds of NSG could figure it out! Here is the string.

"Meth"?

I'm thinking this might be a trick question -- if so, here's a relevant cartoon:

I don't know how he managed to figure that out, but I would guess it to be a huge coincidence if he were wrong.

"There are three words in 'the English language' that *distracting babble*"

The answer is supposed to literally be the third word in the phrase "the English language".

It usually works better when you put it like this:

"Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word?"
