So there was this kid...

who was born a boy, but a botched circumcision resulted in his parents choosing to raise him as a girl (with some persuasion from a psychologist, if I'm not mistaken) it happened sometime in the 60s or 70s I guess, before there were all sorts of ethical regulations on that sort of thing. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and who can tell me his name?

Yes, that would be him, thank you very much. :)

I'm writing a paragraph comparing Gould's stance on biological determinism to the notion that gender isn't biologically determined and I wanted a counter example to each for the sake of being thorough.

His story makes me sad.

What makes me sad is all those idiot doctors "assigning" gender willy-nilly based on his "success". Morons.

I am a white-collar corporate executive trapped in a minimum-wage laborer's body. Please help me, I need a doctor to perform an income tax bracket-change operation on me, and quickly.

Uhm ... doctors walk through the maternity wards where you live and randomly assign genders? "Boy, girl, boy, boy, girl, boy ..."

And just as sad is that his brother developed serious mental problems when he found out, and eventually killed himself, and that David himself eventually killed himself.

All in all, a very sad story :(

And they got a 50-50 chance of getting it right. ;)

Well, if it's random, a sequence like "boy, boy, girl, girl, girl, girl, boy, girl, boy, boy" is more likely.

Well, if it's random, a sequence like "boy, boy, girl, girl, girl, girl, boy, girl, boy, boy" is more likely.Any specific sequence is equally likely when taken from a uniformly random distribution.

Aye, but something like, as in, something similar to the sequence I posted, as opposed to your basic pattern of 101010101...
