So I'm sitting her drinking Pinot Grigio that my fathers friend made. It may be the fact that I was just drinking a different wine, but.. this wine really sucks. It has a very dull flavour.. I dont know..is Pinot Grigio supposed to be dull?
And what is your least favourite wine?
EDIT: And most favourite?

I don't really care much for wine. Occasionally I'll have one with a meal, but usually only if I've run out of decent beer.
What this amounts to is that when I buy wine I first determine whether I want red or white (almost always red), then find one with an amusing/interesting label. Last time I bought a bottle that had an enormous cock on the label.*

Pinot Grigio is not supposed to be dull as far as I know. It's supposed to be a young wine, not aged and therefore probably not as nuanced as an aged wine. I probably like Merlot least. My favorite wines are Gewurtztramminer and Cabernet Savignon.

Pinot Grigio is a rather nice wine, normally. If the quality is ok.
Personally, I'm partial to a very dry red or occasionally a nice white. I love Chianti, Valpolicella and Merlot.
For the whites, my all time favourite is Gruener Veltliner from Austria. I love it in summer, mixed with water and icy cold... lovely.

It depends...It actually ages quite nicely...but I think many of the producers sell it too soon...if its young it probably will be bland...it needs time to develop...
Also I think it depends on where the grapes were grown...it needs a pretty deep clay...
It can be nice...
In Alsace the grape is known as Tokay Pinot Gris and is very sweet and buttery....very nice indeed...
Least favorite wine? Battery acid ;)
Least favourite? Retsina.
I'm also generally not a fan of South African reds. I find them very smoky, and I really don't like it.

The only wine I have tried was the wine at church. I'm not sure what type that is, but it kind of stings my throat.

a good cheap wine that I like is Elephant Trail from S Africa. One of the CO-OP brand wines. I think its about £4
The pinot grigios that I've had have all been on the light side, very crisp and acidic. Definitely not dull.
My least favourite wine is Two Buck Chuck. I don't have a favourite though, as the wine I drink depends entirely on my mood and what I'm eating (if anything). Spicy chinese food tonight, and I'll probably be having viognier with it.
I'm going to the Silver Oak release party this Saturday for their '02 Napa cab; should be fun. :)
And what is your least favourite wine?
EDIT: And most favourite?
My least favorite is Merlot. It's revolting. You know when you eat a fistfull of grapes and you've swallowed all the fruit, but sometimes big wads of grapeskin are left behind to be taken on the second swallow? Chew them and see how it unpleasantly dries out your whole mouth.
Multiply that by a million and that's merlot.
If I'm eating something like prime rib that simply demands a red wine I'll go for a nice Carmenere. But I'd drink gatorade and Everclear with dinner before I'd touch a merlot. And to give you a sense of what I think of Gatorade, when my wife told me the story of how her trucker brother accidentally mixed up his bottle of lemon/lime gatorade with the gatorade bottle he'd been using as an in-cab portapotty I asked "so how did he figure it out?"
My favorite is Riesling. Sweet, light, delicious all on its own. But the one I tend to drink the most is liebfrauenmilch because I take big gulps and the lower proof makes for more comfortable indulgence. I leave the Rieslings for special occaisions. Although if I bother to prepare more than one course for dinner I consider that a special occaision in its own right.
The only wine I have tried was the wine at church. I'm not sure what type that is, but it kind of stings my throat.
Hmmm. They tend to water the wine down at Church. You were probably burned by the holiness. :D

Pino is usually kind of bland for me.
My favorite wine as of now is an Argentinan Cabernet called "High Altitude" - very dry, full flavor.
I can't drink wine...EVER.
You're sorta a muslim, so that's kinda to be expected :p.
I don't drink wine, but I do can discern flavors of coca-cola. :D

I dislike most white wines. Muscat is my favorite as long as they don't overdo the sweetness.

Pinot Noir is my favorite. Always has been. Unfortunately it's an easy wine to screw up and there's alot of Pinot that tastes like crap out there. Biggest mistake in my opinion is not to let it age long enough.

umm red wine, yummy. White wine not so much, unless it's a nice chablis!
Honestly though, have bash at brewing your own, even better brew your own mead! ummmummm.

Not sure what my least favorite wine is, but my favorite is without a doubt sauternes.
I'm not much of a wino, but I do like a couple local wines here from Indiana, more specifically French Lick.

I'd love to do that, but my house has a horrible capacity for growing mold everywhere. My entire kombucha crop was destroyed after I moved here. :(

Is there anything specific about Nebraskan soil that makes for bad grapes, or just that no one in Nebraska knows how to make wine?

I imagine the weather isn't the best for the grapes. Just a guess.

I was never a fan of any wine. They taste bad, you have to drink a lot of it to get messed up, and its expensive. Not to mention drinking it makes you feel all French. I give all wine a :gundge:
