A millenium to rectify climate change? Yeah, maybe if we left it to nature - but when has mankind ever left anything to nature? Yes, the 21st Century will probably be pretty bad, but after that we'll have all the artificial weather machines running, so I'd hardly say there's any danger of climate change wiping out civilisation.

I have no idea what they mean by recover... I find that the current climate that we live in is fine. So if climate change were to pretty much halt over night then I'm not sure what there would be to recover from.

So if climate change were to pretty much halt over night then I'm not sure what there would be to recover from. it's a delayed reaction, the damage we cause now will take effect later...so if it stays the same as it is now the Greenland ice cap will completely melt over a thousand years and raise ocean levels as much as 35-40feet, goodbye Miami, LA, Venice, Vancouver, New York, London and just about every other coastal city, as it is now the oceans have predicated to rise anywhere from 2 -5ft by the end of the century...

and climate change will effect the food and fresh water supply and with the planets population headed to 9 billion by mid century...this is not a good scenario...

A millenium to rectify climate change? Yeah, maybe if we left it to nature - but when has mankind ever left anything to nature? artificial weather machines?...science fiction, end of civilization before that happens...

artificial weather machines *we need a "raises eyebrow" emoticon*, i doubt that.
and i don't really care too, i'm only going to live in the 21st century, and i don't want to live in a century wich was "pretty bad" :(
