Happy Places

When I get stressed out to the max I close my eyes and envision my "Happy Place". This is a a large open meadow, with a forest behind it, and an ocean in front of it. The meadow is full of wild flowers (Its the only time I can not be allergic to flowers!) Anyways, when i think about it, its a a nice mildly warm summer day(about 73 degrees F) with a gentle breeze. I imagine myself just laying there in the meadow, watching the bees frolic from flower to flower, hearing the birds chirp melodious songs, and staring at the big fluffy clouds in the sky pass over. The waves of the ocean strike the shore gently to produce a very soothing sound. The breeze softly blows through the trees. That place makes me happy and instantly soothes my soul.

Does anyone else have a "happy place", whether real or imaginary? Whats it like?

I have a villa with an enclosed courtyard so my cats can safely go outside. My bathroom is gigantic and is open to the sky, so birds can shit on me while I'm in the shower. :D My garden is in flower all year long.

I am on the beach, laying in the sun, watching my husband and kids play, it's pretty nice. I don't ever get a sunburn. ;)

Mine's a crossroads in an enchanted forest, a place where strange and interesting people gather while traveling along the roads. My home there is a grand flet up in an ancient Oak tree. There's a lake nearby, with a large meadow between it and the crossroads. The Lake Monster is large and green and scaly but is a vegetarian.

In the winter, when the weather doesn't permit sleeping out of doors or up in the tree, I have a lovely suite of rooms in town.

There's my camp site, where you could sit there and just watch nature. Very peaceful. There's the trail the goes into the woods behind my house, me likes to walk on that. Then there's them cabin we have about an hour or two away from here.. great waterfall that's only a short walk from the cabin.

And Philadelphia, of course. And I guess the museums..

I really never had some made up happy place.

My happy place varies completely. Sometimes it's a lake district-esque hilly country, sometimes it's a tropical beach, sometimes it's foothills of a mountain range.

On topic, I think Harlesburg and Kanabia just ransacked my happy place :(

...

Does anyone else have a "happy place", whether real or imaginary? Whats it like?

I do!
It's an austere building with a low ceiling but a very wide and featureless floor. The room is bounded by glass walls, affording spectacular views in all directions over wooded gorges.
But it's kind of weird because the floor slopes quite steeply. People I consider friends and role models are sometimes in the room, chatting to each other or viewing the scenery, but everyone is being careful because of the sloping floor. If you fell asleep, or tripped over, you would roll down the floor and disappear out into the gorges.

I'm pretty sure it's some ill-percieved version of the first place I was consciously happy, when I was a few months old.

I see it in dreams, and I often imagine variations on it as my ideal house.

Thanks for asking.

Adelaide is a nice place. I was there for a few weeks, bombed out and useless on tricyclic antidepressants and totally broke. I didn't starve and almost-strangers bought me beer.

Hobart was a friendly town, too.

Can't say the same for Brisbane. Melbourne and Sydney (my home town) are such big cities that just about anything can happen, and does.

Rough guide for hobos: try to stay a kilometre or more from the city centre, and don't talk to people in a railway station.

A rolling plain of amber wheat and ample amounts of summer winds. In the center is a grassy hill with a single apple tree high above everything else. There's also a number of wolves chasing down K-Fed, and although they never catch him, it still pleases me to watch him flee like a pansy.
