Looking for some PS1 Games

So I've managed to find my two PS1 memory cards finally, and since I'm waiting for Final Fantasy VI Advance to come out in February, I figured I'd snatch some new PS1 games for my library since I have so very few. As such, I'm looking for some recommendations.

Here are the games I already own so I don't get dozens of posts recommending them:

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Chrono Cross

And that's it. (I play the newer remakes of the older Final Fantasy games on my GBA, so please no recommendations of Anthologies or Chronicles.) So, what's good out there for me to play?

The later Crash Bandicoots were cool. Never before has death been so amusing.

I agree with the bolded games. I also recommend the original Silent Hill, the original Grand theft auto was humorous, Oddworld, Crash Bandicoot, um....Metal Gear Solid. Oh man. Im off to play some PS1 now :D

I really liked Battle Arena Toshindin (sp?) but I wouldn't really recommend it to anybody. Except you.

Oh, yes, should have mentioned I've got Chrono Trigger on my old SNES. :D

So...the Silent Hill series, Resident Evil series, Metal Gear Solid, Oddworld, Crash Bandicoot...already a flowing list. Thank you peeps. Please, keep the recommendations coming. I know a great bargain store where I can get a ton of PS1 games for pretty damned cheap so I figure I can get a truckload or whatnot in one go, yeah?

If you can find it, try Warhawk. It is one of the most enjoyable games that I had ever played. It's really old, though. Good luck finding it.

.. DangerGirls is another fun one.

oh and Fear Effect 2 has a scene that would have some parents up in arms. it's not that bad tho... but it leaves very little to the imagination.

As I am almost twenty I don't think I'll be bugged by anything, though thank you for the warning nonetheless.

Games will be rated with Nostalgic values out of 10 :P

*(10) Metal Gear Solid - Greatest REALISTIC(mostly) story game of all time
*(10) Crash 2 and 3 - If Nostalgia could kill....
*(8) Crash Team Racing - fun game, better than Mario Kart 64 easily!
*(10) Need for Speed 3 (and 4) was(were) damn good at the time, but it(they) won't be much fun after all these years.
*(7) Wargames - very nice game - less fun these days though.
*(10) Ape Escape - YOU CANNOT go past this, everyone likes this little gem.

More to come when I think of them. :D

Star Ocean: The Second Story. One of my favorite RPGs of all time.

Other great games are Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Broken Sword.

I came in here thinking I would be recommending Chrono Cross, but apparently not.

You could try Blood Omen and Soul Reaver. Play Blood Omen first if you want to understand Soul Reaver better.

Well, there are probably some others, but they aren't coming to mind right now. I'll tell you if I think 'em up.

QFT. Sometimes you just let them kill you so you can see what'll happen.

PS1 games?

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

That's really the only must-have PS1 game at this point. Everything else is just fun, but that's a high-point in gaming history.

Valkyrie Profile

Great game that never got the credit it truly deserved :(

Twisted Metal 2 is always a classic as well.
