Best Rock and Roll Frontman?

Who is the best frontman for a band?
How do you say who is the best?
Yes i blatantly stole this from here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=433087) with a few alterations.

Hmm. Tough one. SOme of the best frontmen were also horrible people and/or difficult to work with. For instance, David Lee Roth was awesome. But a total dickhead. But a good frontman also has to be an over-the-top persona.
So the difficult part is balancing talent with outrageousness with respect for his band with timelessness.
I gotta go with Steve Tyler from Aerosmith. *nod*
Diamond Dave is up there, but... I'll have to say either... Freddie Mercury or David Bowie.

Yeah, and Duke Nukem Forever as well.
Just because they've said it's finished and a release date has been announced, doesn't mean it'll actually be released.
Okay, first... hendrix's name is Jimi, not jimmy, and he was ripping off pete townshend when he destroyed his gittar, so that whole line is... well, no.

Jimmy Hendrix (The Jimmy Hendrix Experience) First ever destruction of an instrument on stage
I think actually the Who were smashing up their guitars, kits and amps before Hendrix was setting his on fire.
Quick check... aye - Townshend was trashing instruments when Hendrix was still playing for the Isley Brothers.
I doubt, however that anyone will ever know when the first ever destruction of an instrument on stage occured, but I highly doubt it was in the C20th. Accidents will happen...

I think its meant to be the soundtrack to some film coming out shortly, I know this for a fact that its got to be released because its tied in with something else which is unrelated to it, like the film I mentioned but cant remember the name of

Jim Morrison (The Doors) Stripped naked on stage, was then arrested for indecency
...and Jim Morrison never got naked on stage either. He may have got his John Thomas out, but so what? Nobody is sure if he did. Certainly ain't in the GG Allin league of things.
I am beginning to have my doubts about thew rigour of the research that went into this poll.

John Lydon has his stage presence beaten in spades. Not only does he have stage presence, he has presence in every single aspect of his life. His interviews are especially entertaining.
Bob Mould has a hell of a presence, too. Total energy, and his voice is timeless.

What what what?
[/Kyle Broflovski's Mom]
Don't say things like that. At least not on rock n' roll appreciation threads. Angus Young is a great guitarist, and he's great for watching solos, but by himself he's just a short dude spazzing on the floor with a guitar. Bon Scott by contrast was a freaking force of nature. He's the guy who actually lived the sex, drugs, and rock n' roll motif AC/DC is known for.
So, just so we're clear: Angus Young is a great guitarist with a penchant for driving rhythyms and sonic goodness who also happens to be one of the great short men in history (he's cooler than Yoda, for instance). But Bon Scott is a ball of unbridled force and charisma who was so potent he could make straight men want to sleep with him.

You can hear one of his famous rants here (http://media.putfile.com/Wake-Up-Live)
“We gotta regain knowledge again, and we got to gain an understanding again, of who we are.
Not just those chosen to fuel systems, but individuals who have the power to criticize and analyze and attack unjustice when it becomes prevalent and apparent in front of our faces like it is every day in ours right now.
We need to begin to awaken and use our ability and our strengths to combat systems which continue to perpetrate ignorance amongst our spirit and amongst our minds.
We been all been put to sleep, put to a sleep to a system who want you not to act, through a system that would rather see all of you at that bar drinking beer, filling you minds, being put to sleep with beer, with drugs than rather then acting against it and fighting a system that has been perpetrating imperialist lies and fucking bullshit for five hundred years.
Yeah so fucking drink up or fucking wake up, your part of the solution or your part of the fucking problem!
We could talk about this all fucking day!
But know I am sick and tired of my own complacence in my life, and I know I’m fucking sick of yours.
So fucking stand up and stop fucking sleeping
Wake up”

Jimmi Hendrix definitely wasn't the first to destroy his instrument on stage. Jerry Lee Lewis set fire to his piano on stage sometime in the fifties. He's more rock and roll than almost anyone on the poll. I'd vote for someone like Alice Cooper or Marilyn Manson though. They're showmen on stage, not just frontmen.
