I've never seen Father Ted, but my humming noise would be the noise my mother's car makes or the gentle humming of some giant beige machine. A sort of reassuring sound that I am going someplace or something is performing its function in a proper manner.

A sort of hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

It has to be an actual machine or something, because white noise machines sometimes make me nauseous.
