Oh, man. That's a boneheaded move, and sad, to boot. Are they really so desperate that they must pander to the lowest common denominator of their audience? Anybody with half a brain will look at that and think, "You're right, you know. You have a right-wing bias."

Also, you gotta love the way the die-hard Fox fans are defending this move. I especially liked this comment:

If all you were ever fed was corn, and you were told that corn is only served on the cob, what would be your reaction to say a bowl of cream corn? Would you say that bowl of cream corn is not corn? The cream corn would look absolutely foreign to you. But it is corn. Could it not be possible that the people feeding you corn on the cob were misleading you, or at the least not giving you the full picture? And what if the source of this wasn’t just one organization, but all of the organizations. Along comes this company offering cream corn. I suspect that what really perplexes people is that they have been told all their life that the MSM is normal, it’s what is. So when you see Fox, man, this is different. That doesn’t mean Fox is slanted to the right, it just means you are getting the cream corn you were never offered before……..

:p

Odd... it's the same website, and the same video player, and it works fine for me.

Alright, this is what it does: it shows some flyby graphics of recent events, with labels like "IRAQ", "KATRINA", and "IMMIGRATION". Then it says: "America has problems". Then the FNC logo appears, and just below it: "The problem isn't America."

It's hilarious, yet at the time frightening, reading the comments from die-hard Foxists intent on displaying their ignorance and cognitive dissonance by arguing that Fox is 'Fair and Balanced'.
Like these comments:
Too bad Republicans aren’t as aggressive.
...
MSM does have a liberal bias. We see it everyday. In fact, it is so liberally biased that even a balanced broadcast can seem to have a conservative bias.
...
Wow! Fox sure knows how to hit the spot! Directly addressing most MSM components bias to the Left is a very good thing.
Open confrontation of the MSM and their bias to the Left with the thing they will pay attention to: a competitor eating their lunch and calling them on what they are - a distributor of propaganda for the Left. Wow!
Go Fox Go!
...
Maybe the message “taking the Gloves Off”, dosen’t only apply to our military, and has finally hit home…..
Let’s see if the battle is truly engaged, weapons fired, and our internal ememy combatents (Dems and MSM) fire back!
...
Still laughing! Wow. That’s a telling it like it is; a real poke in the eye of the traitorous left.
...
Here’s the next ad:
- Cue music
- Montage of Network Anchors and prominent Democrats
- Fade in text: Fox News. We DON’T hate America.
- Superimpose American flag.

Bizarro world still exists in America I see.

Well, with their ratings dropping I guess they have to make sure they hold on to at least something. Might as well be the basest base.

Like this gem of a guy-
Nearly every major advancement in medicine, technology, aviation, science, mathmatics, engineering, modern architecture, agriculture, ecology, transportation, sanitation, housing, construction methods and the overall standard of living, has come from America. We lead the world in global humanitarian aid and welfare to third world countries. The very people who are trying to condemn the American way of life are only jealous hate filled ignorant parasites who never contributed a damned thing to humanity or created squat besides a contentious atmosphere in which the hate America crowd festers.

Yeah! Take that motherfuckers! The world was a stagnant, undeveloped waste land until that fine day in July in 1776-in fact, it was full of cave men, we didn't have a revolution as much as an uplifting of the species. We where so badass that we went back in time to develop the methods that got us to the continent in the first place! If you don't believe that you're all just jealous yellow red commie terrorist bastards, that's what!

You are right however in that Americans are the first to help anyone else on this earth. Sometimes bad leadership interferes with that (when it comes to war), since we are the world leader (NO we don’t have to apologize for that, and if anyone else wants the title this American will gladly give it to them once they earn it) it is our duty to do so.

Now, you're argument, as I understand it is that Fox is the only unbiased media source, therefore all other media sources are biased?

No, no, it's like this.

Fox is the only unbiased media. Therefore terrorists hate Fox, as it exposes them as the filthy muslims that they are (or is that the other way around?). Therefore, terrorists like any media that isn't Fox. Therefore, since all Democrats are terrorist sympathizers, any media that terrorists like is biased towards left-wingers.

First of all, no he didn't say that, I did. It's what we call satire. If you're unfamiliar with it it's where we take something ridiculous and make it even more ridiculous to poke fun at it. Granted it wasn't the height of satire, but you can't expect Jonathan Swift in a forum post.

True, there's nothing like Jonathon Swift, and that was nothing like Jonathon Swift :p . You went, in my opinion, from satire (and yes, I know what it is) to simply putting words in his mouth.

So his opinions seem a little... extreme. Big deal. There are lots of these people around on both sides of the political spectrum. And he does make a point: a lot of these people who do nothing but spout America-hating drivel *coughMichaelMoorecough* have done oh-so-very little to humanity as a whole other than making it more cynical than it needs to be.

These promos are ridiculous. Fox News is going down the toilet and will eventually be bankrupt. Too bad O'Reilly and a few of the other disgusting individuals like John Gibson will still have other places to spew their garbage.

Fact: I have no problem with right-winged people arguing their positions on issues. I'm all for it. I just don't think you should be using the news as a way of doing so. The news is the news. Quite frankly I have to get it from several different stories because I can barely tell what's real from what's biased trash anymore. At least CNN doesn't let its own corporate bias influance it anywhere nearly as much as Fox News lets it. (I say this not to speak out against corporations but merely pointing out the source of the bias. Please no accusations of being a commie. I am no commie.)
