[Chorus:]
If I only could I'd set the world on fire

[Violent J]
Fuck you, fuck me, fuck us
Fuck Tom, fuck Mary, fuck Gus

Everybody in your crew sucks, punk mother fucks
Fuck critics, fuck your review
Even if you like me, fuck you
Fuck your mom, fuck your mom's momma
Fuck the Beastie Boys and the Dali Llama
Fuck the rain forest, fuck a Forrest Gump
You probably like it in the rump
Fuck a shoe pump, fuck the real deal and fuck all the fakes
Fuck all fifty two states! Oooo, and fuck you

[Chorus X 2]

[Violent J]
Fuck Oprah, fuck opera, fuck a soap opera
Fuck a pop locker and a cock blocker
Fuck your girlfriend, I probably did her already
Fuck Kyle and his brother Tom Petty, Jump Steady
My homie, fuck him, what are you gonna do?
(Fuck that bitch, fuck you!) Yeah well fuck you too
Don't bother tryin to analyze these rhymes
In this song I say fuck ninety three times
Fuck the president, fuck your welfare
Fuck your government and fuck Fred Bear
Fuck Nugent, like anybody gives a fuck
You like to hunt a lot, so fuckin what?!
Fuck disco, Count of Monte Crisco
Fuck Cisco, and Jack and Jerry Brisco
And fuck everyone who went down with the Titanic, in a panic
I'm like fuck you, AHHHHH!!!!

[Chorus X 2]

[Violent J]
Fuck Celine Dion and fuck Dionne Warwick
You both make me sick, suck my dick
Fuck the Berlin Wall, both sides of it
And fuck Lyle Lovett, whoever the fuck that is
Fuck everybody in the hemisphere
Fuck them across the world, and fuck them right here
You know the guy that operates the Rouge River draw bridge in Delray on
Jefferson? FUCK HIM!
Fuck your idea, fuck your gonnoreha
Fuck your diarrhea, Rocky Maivia
Fuck your wife, your homie did, he's fuckin you
Fuck the police and the 5-0 too
Fuck Spin, Rolling Stone, and fuck Vibe
Fuck everybody inside
Whoever's on the cover, fuck his mother
Fuck your little brother's homie from around the way
And fuck Violent J!

Title: Wildfire

Oh why are we so sad?
Are we feeling hurt by their evil eyes and all those empty words?
We are thirsty for payback?
What would we like to do with the town?
Wouldn't we like to make it dance (Ha ha ha ha) with the animal?
Would we? Would we?
Tell us, what we would like to do.
Burn it. Burn it all...
Burn honey, burn, let the fire eat away
I never liked the look of this town
Burn it down now
I'll run, they all know what I've done
I fetch my gear and take my leave from this mountain
I never had a chance to prove I wasn't guilty,
I always seemed to get blamed for
Every little crime, I didn't even have a name for...
Still running, still defeated in my mind
I never even tried to defend my own pride
The father ain't always like the son
They claim we've purloined, I'm not the one...
The story always goes, when the anger within
Builds up for too long...
Takes us over...
And we all are forced to obey, hey...
It was a match made in Hell,
Now the whole mountain burns
And every man gets what no man deserves
Our beloved kin never learned to fit in
Now I pay for my name, live my life in sin
How much less can I ask from you people?
This town stays in disarray
'Til the rules are the same for us all, hey...
[SOLO]
I've ran on this mountain, with no guilt of my own
The trees and the rocks, every cave, every hole
I dropped them a line, "Beware, this mountain will
blow in your face. My last saving grace..."
Bells toll all over town, burn, burn until it's all gone
Game over, what was a bad joke is now a reality show...
We all are forced to obey... we all are forced to obey...
I climbed up the mountain,
And dug a grave for each day of pain,
It's in the past, this moment's so frail...
I am what you made me
With years of abuse, so burn!!!! (Burn)
This is a match made in Hell,
Now the whole mountain burns
And every man gets what no man deserves
Our beloved kin never learned to fit in
Now I pay for my name, live my life in sin
How much less can I ask from you people?
This town stays in disarray
'Til the rules are the same for us all
Our beloved kin never learned to fit in
Now I pay for my name, live my life in sin
How much less can I ask from you people?
I hereby declare a martial law
And you all, we all are forced to obey... hey!

The song loses a lot just reading it. Go pirate it.

I looked up horrorcore on wikipedia tonight, out of curiosity. Motherfucker, I thought it'd just be a different strain of music. But damn, it's fucked up.

Horrorcore lyrics typically contain a fairly similar subject matter. Mostly dealing with Macabre & Horror, such as homicide, suicide, crime, rape or necrophilia, Satanism, Dark Rituals and other unusual topics. Some songs have samples from Horror Movies in the beginning, chorus, or end of the song to add to the songs' brooding atmosphere. Occasionally, such topics are used in a darkly comedic manner.

Fuck the What? If I wanna here about homicide, suicide, rape, crime, or necrophilia, I'll just talk to the token depressed kids at my school.

I hold your hand in mine, dear, I press it to my lips
I take a healthy bite from your dainty fingertips
My joy would be complete, dear, if you were only here
But still I keep you had as a precious souvenir
The night you died I cut it off; I really don't know why
For now each time I kiss it, I get bloodstains on my tie
I'm sorry now I killed you, for our love was something fine;
But until they come and get me I will hold your hand in mine.

Tom Lehrer is a genius. This guy was a math professor at Harvard.

Question: Why can't anyone (with the possible exception of whatever band Jack White happens to be in) rock like they used to? These days it's all phony suburban angst, loser brat-punk, or someone strangling cats to a drummer with epilepsy. :headbang: Headbang

It's all the same. Synthetic, useless pop music without the value of a stock the day after Black Thursday. The only difference is that you are more used to the music that was produced before, and so the music of "these days" doesn't fit with what your ear has been trained to like.

I happen to like the idea of someone strangling cats to an epileptic drummer. It has a certain nihilistic quality to it. Plus it would piss off the musical elitists who have a tantrum every time a dischordant note gets played.

And if those don't work, try the Aquabats!, Flogging Molly, and (Not rock exactly) the Voodoo Glow Skulls.

A lot of Apocalyptica doesn't have lyrics. Yet somehow you get a...feeling from their songs, I guess. Some are energetic, some menacing, others happy, others sad.

Sonata Artica is great. The lyrics are about the strangest things. Ain't your Fairy tale is about wolves. Told from the wolves's perspective. Wildfire is about torching a village, My Selene is...christ, I don't even know what the hell My Selene is about.

Fatigue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tffX70iP3E)

Living your life by the minutes on your clock
Forgetting reality by a mental block
You can't stand this and you can't stand that
You also know where it's been but never where it's at
All you factory girls and you factory boys
Whose been winding you up like cheap little toys?

Don't you know you suffer from metal fatigue
Rust never sleeps in the minor league
This is the problem of iron and steel
When you are a cog in a clockwork wheel
You've set your own course down a well trodden path
And made you a cog when you want to laugh

I've got metal fatigue

Pink Floyds Time or the Maori Battalions Marching song.

In my opinion, in terms of how well the lyrics are written, High Hopes is Pink Floyd's (and therefore the world's) best song;
Plus that magnificent, breathtaking solo at the end. You can just get lost in it and play it over and over and over...
ahem...
lyrics:

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever....

Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the OO OO AA AA bird.

OOOH fantastic incredible, what the
hell is an OO OO AA AA bird?
The OO OO AA AA bird is a rare and exotic
bird found in the deserts of Australia. It
has three foot legs and four foot testicles,
and every time it lands, it goes OO OO AA AA.

Chorus:

We are off to see the wild west show
With the elephants and the kangaroos
No matter what the weather
As long as we're together
We're off to see the wild west show.

Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the giraffe
OOOH, fantastic, incredible, what the
hell is a giraffe

The giraffe from the Savannas of Africa is
the only animal that can walk into a bar
and say, "The high-balls are on me."

Chorus.

Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the wherethefuckarewe tribe
OOOH, fantastic, incredible, what the
hell is a wherethefuckarewe tribe

This is a tribe of four foot pigmies found in
deepest darkest Africa that walks through
five foot high grass shouting: "Where the fuck are we?
Where the fuck are we?"

Chorus.
Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the orangutan bird
OOOH, fantastic, incredible, what the
hell is an orangutan bird

The orangutan bird is found in the mountains
of Africa. It's left ball is made of steel
and it's right ball is made of copper. Every
time it lands, it goes oran-gu-tan,
oran-gu-tan.

Chorus.

Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the rhinosaurus
OOOH, fantastic, incredible, what the
hell is a rhinosaurus

The rhinosaurus is reputed to be the richest
animal in the world. It's name is derived
from the Latin - rhino meaning money and
soreass meaning piles. Hence - piles of
money.

Chorus.

Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the kerii bird
OOOH, fantastic, incredible, what the
hell is a kerii bird

The kerrii bird lives north of the Arctic
Circle. Every time it comes in to land on the
ice it says, "Kerii kerii ker-ist it's cold."

Ladies and Gentleman, in the far ring we have
the winky wank bird
OOOH, fantastic, incredible, what the
hell is a winky wank bird

By some strange evolutionary occurrence, the
nervous system of this bird's eyelids is
connected to its foreskin. Every time it
winks, it wanks and every time it wanks, it
winks.

Id like to take you now on wings of song, as it were, and try and help you forget perhaps for a while your drab, wretched lives. heres a song all about spring-time in general, and in particula
Out one of the many delightful pastimes the coming of spring affords us all.

Spring is here, a-suh-puh-ring is here.
Life is skittles and life is beer.
I think the loveliest time of the year is the spring.
I do, dont you? course you do.
But theres one thing that makes spring complete for me,
And makes evry sunday a treat for me.

All the world seems in tune
On a spring afternoon,
When were poisoning pigeons in the park.
Evry sunday youll see
My sweetheart and me,
As we poison the pigeons in the park.

When they see us coming, the birdies all try an hide,
But they still go for peanuts when coated with cyanide.
The suns shining bright,
Evrything seems all right,
When were poisoning pigeons in the park.

Lalaalaalalaladoodiedieedoodoodoo

Weve gained notoriety,
And caused much anxiety
In the audubon society
With our games.
They call it impiety,
And lack of propriety,
And quite a variety
Of unpleasant names.
But its not against any religion
To want to dispose of a pigeon.

So if sunday youre free,
Why dont you come with me,
And well poison the pigeons in the park.
And maybe well do
In a squirrel or two,
While were poisoning pigeons in the park.

Well murder them all amid laughter and merriment.
Except for the few we take home to experiment.
My pulse will be quickenin
With each drop of strychnine
We feed to a pigeon.
It just takes a smidgin!
To poison a pigeon in the park.

Of course, Freddie Mercury's voice personifies everything great about music, so naturally, the best songs ever sung will be his.

Now, of course, while We Will Rock You is the "greatest" song ever made (considering it is THE most imprinting tune ever composed, just as Einstein, Shakespeare, and Hitler are the "greatest" people ever to live in proportion to their name recognition), I will list the three songs I think should be considered the greatest.

1. (an unknown instrumental rock song my mother recorded off the radio twenty years ago by an unknown band)
2. The Prophet's Song (Queen)
3. (an unknown lyrical rock song I recorded off the radio about a week ago by an unknown band)

Goddamn, I wish I knew the names of those songs. At least the second one has lyrics I can look up.

They've Cancelled Christmas
(In Bethlehem)

They've cancelled Christmas in Bethlehem
They've cancelled Christmas in Bethlehem
In a land once known as Holy the gun is in control
They've cancelled Christmas in Bethlehem

They've cancelled freedom in Bethlehem
They've cancelled freedom in Bethlehem
An occupation army has invaded Palestine
They've cancelled Christmas in Bethlehem

chorus
Though angels are singing, F-16s drown out the sound
Though angels are singing, the tanks are much too loud
And those that sing of peace on earth will this year sing in vain
Because the Israeli army have closed down Bethlehem

They've cancelled wise men in Bethlehem
They've cancelled shepherds in Bethlehem
They've stopped the wise men at the checkpoint and the shepherds can't leave home
They're under curfew in Bethlehem

chorus
Though angels are singing ?

They've cancelled hope in Bethlehem
They've cancelled peace in Bethlehem
O Holy Child, what would you say - you're unwelcome once again
They've cancelled Christmas in Bethlehem

chorus
Though angels are singing ?

Locomotive Breath
Album: Aqualung

[Intro]

Into the shuffling madness
Of the locomotive breath
Runs the all-time loser
Headlong to his death
Oh, he hears the pistons scraping
Steam breaking on his brow
Old Charlie stole the handle

[Chorus:]
And the train, it won't stop going!
No way to slow down!
No way to slow down
No way to slow down

He sees his children jumping off
The stations one by one
His woman and his best friend
In bed and having fun
Oh, he's crawling down the corridor
On his hands and knees
Old Charlie stole the handle

[Chorus]

[Flute solo]

He hears the silence howling
And catches angels as they fall
And the all-time winner
Has got him by the balls
Oh, he picks up Gideon's Bible
Yes, it's open at page one
Old Charlie stole handle

[Chorus]

[End]

It's not the best ever but it's one of my favorites, and one of the only songs to which I can remember all the lyrics. It sounds emo but it's pretty catchy.

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever....
