That State of the Union Speech last night must have been riveting. John McCain was on the edge of his seat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkkTFVIxMQs&e). Oh wait. No. He was snoring.

What an ingrate. Bush goes to all the trouble to humiliate McCain multiple times over the last six years, McCain responds by kissing ass and hiring the majority of former Bush campaign staffers for his 2008 run, and then he falls asleep during Dear Leader's address.

By the way, that's the only time I'll ever do that with a title, I swear. :D

lol, but i guess you can't really blame him, long speeches tend to be boring.

I wouldn't know. I watched Dirty Jobs instead.
It's just a ten second clip--not even enough of Bush's voice to raise the blood pressure.

I saw some of it on the news, and frankly, I don't blame him. I'd take PMQs any day. Nothing better than a **** (pardon my french) like Blair trying to turn "you're not going to send people to jail any more" into "we're tough on crime."

Anybody else notice Nancy Pelosi trying to hold back a smirk as Bush was talking about America's addiction to oil... again?

I was really hoping that at some point in the speech, she'd lean forward and pop him on the head with her gavel.

The entire world is addicted to oil, because it's useful.

Anyway, I saw bits and pieces of the State of the Union address, but I just couldn't handle too much of it. I kept ducking back into my room to play Final Fantasy IX.

As for McCain, I really don't care. The man is a menace, just as screwed up in the head as Hillary Clinton. No, what I want to see is an Obama/Guiliani ticket.
Sweet, I was on FFIX last night as well. Finally dug up that last chocograph piece.

He started out that way, but then deliberately tried to annoy and aggravate the democratic party by using "democrat" as an adjective.

Considering that this was the state of the union, and that he used "democratic" in context of foreign governments, it was a deliberate affront and provocation.

More evidence that this man-child and his party of crooks can't be taken seriously.

I managed to find a station that was running reruns of Magnum, P.I.

It was on!?

I remember last year there was all this build up to it, and this one just slipped by without a single professor forcing me to watch it.

Is G.W. even doing anything anymore, or are we just paying for his living expenses for the next year? Running a country into the ground must be tiresome...

In all honesty, his speech was a lot better than the ones he has given in the past. If he follows through on the stuff he mentioned, I would seriously consider giving him a favorable rating.

I never liked him--even though he did decent things to New York City, he had a nasty authoritarian streak that would pop out from time to time. The real last straw for me was the threat he made to the Brooklyn Museum over some controversial artwork they were displaying. Art's supposed to be controversial--if it's not ruffling some feathers, it's not doing its job. But Giuliani thought his feelings were more important and was ready to destroy a museum over it. Fuck that guy.
