I think this will bring Iran to its knees. America will win the US-Iran war without a shot being fired.
Especially since we're now reminding Iran that they don't own the middle east or the Persian Gulf.
Oh, brilliant idea. Give Ahmadinejad a new excuse to shift the blame for Iran's economic woes off himself and onto the US. Just when he was becoming unpopular at home, hand him an opportunity to point Iranian people's anger straight at the US instead of against him.
They're already bringing themselves to their knees thanks to Ahmadinejad's idiocy.
Foreign investors are fleeing, inflation is out of control, the oil industry is in shambles, unemployment and poverty are rising and overall everything is getting worse. Even the government is becoming fiscally strained.
Yeah, Iran was already fucked before the US started this up. They're just speeding up the process.

Interesting, maybe Iran will finally become a friendly state in the Middle East. I like the Ancient Powers. They should show their commitment by going back to the name Persia.

It does keep the US and the Saudis busy after school, and keeps them off the streets, so that's a good thing.
Cool. They're repeating one of the same things that Kuwait did in the 90's, which was one of the reasons why Saddam invaded. This can only end well :)

Iran isn't all that.

Yeah, but if you mess with Saudi Arabia, OPEC messes with you.

Well, severe economic sanctions certainly worked in bringing about the fall of Castro.
Not like imposing sanctions shifted anger and blame over the lousy economy from the ruler to the US.

Damn straight, since obviously the USA owns the region.
And if we're really lucky we can send in a Shah again and really screw them up.
Iran isn't all that.

Rumours of Iran's economic death are greatly exaggerated. Its true that Ahmadinejad is causing a bit of a bump, but at the end of the day, Iran is one of the safest countries in the greater Middle East, it has one of the best literacy rates and an ample work force that are (on an individual level at least) friendly to Westerners.
If the USA had a shred of morality they would be allied with Iran against Saudi Arabia.

Yes, but at the same time they also have decaying oil infrastructure, 11.2% unemployment, high underemployment, and 40% of the population under the poverty line.
If the USA had a shred of morality they would be allied with Iran against Saudi Arabia.
If we had a shred of morality, we wouldn't be allied with either. Neither is better than the other.

If it had that, it wouldn't go around playing world dictator now would it? Too bad morality and politics don't mix. Unless it's "religious" morality.
