Obama's Islamic Past Debunked.

Remember the allegation the Sen. Barack Obama had attended a madrassa when he was young? Well, this smear's origins have been identified and it has been thoroughly debunked.

Insight Magazine, which is owned by the same company as The Washington Times, reported on its Web site last week that associates of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, had unearthed information the Illinois Democrat and likely presidential candidate attended a Muslim religious school known for teaching the most fundamentalist form of Islam. Insight stood by its story in a response posted on its Web site Monday afternoon.

Insight Magazine, owned by the Right-wing biased newspaper is behind the smear, its allegation has no evidence to support it and is based in fiction. CNN went to the school in Indonesia that Obama attended when he was 6, it is a public, and secular school.

I apologize for the bias source, but the video and the CNN article are really the parts I'm referring to

What is this, the fourth, fifth thread on the same article?

That's it. I'm going into hibernation until October 2008. I already can't handle it...

Well, considering that the last post in it was 40 minutes ago (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=515435&page=6) and the opening post has same article (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12240501&postcount=1), this hardly counts as a 'remember when.' Yeah I remember, it was less than an hour ago. Even I don't do that much drugs...

Wow. Not only do we have time warps, but time now appears to be going round in circles. How many identical threads have there been?

Obama is spotless. The worst thing I've heard about him is his supposed involvement in a "crooked land deal" -- basically, he bought property on the south side of Chicago, and some other guy named Antoin Rezko bought a neighboring property on the same day. This guy then sold Obama a ten-foot strip of his new property as a side yard for Obama's land. After the deal, Rezko was outed as an influence-peddler. Also, one of Obama's 100+ interns was found to have connections to him.

If that's the absolute worst they can dig up on him, what else can you expect but lies and "factiness (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=factiness)"?

...then cite to smear politicians they don't like. And when it blows up in their faces, they claim they were just citing a source and wipe their hands clean. That's how right-wing "journalism" works.

Oh, how deliciously ironic. Good anyway, I like Obama (slightly less so his positions) and figured it was a lie from the start, regardless of who was guilty for spreading it.

I can't wait to see what the daily show does with this!
Fox news should be ridden out of the country on a rail for this blatant lack of fact checking.

Who cares about this? Even Ireland has had a Muslim TD (member of Irish parliament) and we're supposed to be one of the more "backwards" western countries.

Given the number of threads about this the chance of knowing which one exactly you where talking about was slim...not that any of them are all that different...

While I certainly wouldn't have put it past her, the latest I heard was that there is no evidence her campaign was the source of the rumor, and CNN was speculating that she might not have been. Insight won't name its source.
