Yeah. Even as a kid watching the show, I thought it was dumb that Megatron was taller than Starscreech (as I called him because the voice on that guy was annoying -- same voice actor as G.I. Joe's Cobra Commander from the same mid-80s era), and yet when he transformed, he fit into other untransformed robots' hands. Same thing with Soundwave's cassettes. The show jumped the shark with the continued need for new 'bots instead of decent storylines. I mean, come on: animals, insects, DINOSAURS?!? Could we mix our fantasy icons a little more? I think when you're a kid it's easy to get over the whole change-in-scale-when-transforming issue. Megatron was highly badasstic on the show and in the original Marvel comic.
The toy sucked donkeynutz tho. Triggercrotch, yeah but all the gun transformers had that. (The original Japanese Shockwave actually looked like a trigger/phallus. The one released as a Decepticon had that flat little step-trigger jobbie.) My biggest problem with the toy was it loosened up real fast and couldn't stand up in robot mode after only a few transformations.
That said, Megatron had the coolest lines.
"I shall reduce you to a bubbling puddle of protoplasm!" (Comic Book)
"Such Heroic nonsense..." *BOOM* (Movie)
For me, he and Prime made the series. no matter what foolishness went on around them, the dynamic between the characters was generally much more well done than the rest.
The only reason later incarnations of Megatron were a tank was because the original toy looked REAL. It looked absolutely like a Walther 9mm from even a small distance. Ejection port and everything. Looked like maybe the original Japanese toy (most Transformers were just re-dresses of Japanese toys) had some kind of actual firing mechanism for plastic pellets or something.

I never took the time or interest in the newer versions for the reason that they added 3D into the show trying to improve it and make it more interesting to the new age child but it just seemed corny to me the new characters weren't as exciting as the 'originals'.

I actually thought the 3D ones looked better. Though I sometimes thought maybe they should just go back and redo the gen1 series in the 3D style. I actually liked the characters from BW more than gen1, since there were fewer of them, more attention was focused on each one. However, an unfortunate aspect of this was the lack of giant robot armies clashing like in gen1. I guess maybe it's just the nostalgia of growing up with it.
JuNii darling, how old are you and did you ever watch Armada, Beastwars or Energon?

Explain please.I grew up with the Original. Actually I grew up with the robots that brought forth the Transformers.
Raideen (transforms from God Robot to Pheonix.)
Danguard Ace (Robot to StarFighter)
Combatra V (5 vehicles combine to one robot.)
DanCougar (3 tanks + 1 Fighter transforms to 1) individual Robots, 2) Individual Animals, and 3) combines for one mega robot.
Gundam (some models transformed, Zeta, Psycho, etc...)
And many more.
then the Original Transformers were shown just as I was starting High School, so it was nostalgia for me.
then they brought about the second Gen, with Rodimus Prime and those stories didn't fare well with me, but some of the designs were impressive.
then they got silly with the Headmasters, Power Masters, Target Masters, etc...
Beast wars I couldn't get into... an ape transforming to a robot seemed redundant to me. so I didn't get into the whole beast wars saga.
Armada brought the powerlink system... intersting but limiting.
that and Armada, Energon and now Cybertron are just re-tellings of the same tale. Robots come to earth, need to hide, fight Decepitcons... They should make it different, keep Optimus Prime out of it, and have new leaders for both sides. keeps it intersting as well as not so redundant.
But those are the stories. the Toy line however, can be hours of fun... especially when you hide the instructions and try to figure it out by yourself, and expeically when you try that binaltech ones.

When I was a little older, in late elementary school, they came out with Beast Wars, and I thought that was a pretty cool series, albeit, not the original transformers. I still have fond memories of watching that. Beast Machines (the weird sequel to the series) sucked though.
Damn kids. I was at uni when Beast Wars came out. :p
I never took the time or interest in the newer versions for the reason that they added 3D into the show trying to improve it and make it more interesting to the new age child but it just seemed corny to me the new characters weren't as exciting as the 'originals'.
The 3D was crap. Even worse was that they yelled out whatever power they were about to use, like some crap Japanese anime based on a game or toy line. Oh, wait...that's exactly what it was.

You haven't noticed that I always include some sort of Ruffy option in my polls?
Oh, and wait for my next one... *snicker*

The Movie Trailer looks shit awful IMO.
I feel happy in the knowledge i was at school or working while the new shows were on.

The only ones worth anything were the early ones.

Megatron is my favorite Decepticon.
I liked the good guys better overall though.

I don't have the faintest idea what this is about. So I chose the Ruffy option :)
