The driver had a "permanently revoked drivers license" was last arrested on October for the above mentioned reason.

I feel he should be sentenced for the least a few years. It's just a matter of time before he takes a life. What do you think should happen with the man?

He shouldn't get anymore ice cream.

Or maybe he should go to jail for a while, whatever.

An unidentified Pasco County Fire paramedic attends to Daisha Garcia, 7, as her father Elliot and sister Delysha, 2, watch Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 in Port Richey.

Why can't people pick normal names...or something that isn't ridiculous.

Didn't you notice that it happened in Florida, I believe the temperature was around 80 degrees F.

That's a pretty arrogant thing to say, "those girls had it coming".

That's completely irrelevant...They're peurto ricans I believe so what we don't think is "normal" could quite possibly be "normal" to them.

Well, obviously. It leads to car crashes.

It is a known fact that in that particular neighborhood (Residential Area) that their are a vast majority of cars that excessively speed down the road. That particular street recently was re-paved. Also, that particular neighborhood has a lot of children. I don't think their is any justification to drive down a residential street at 50+ mph. These 4 girls were on the sidewalk when they were injured. The Ice Cream Truck was parked on the side of the road right next to the sidewalk serving icecream to neighborhood children and adults on a Hot, Sunny, Saturday afternoon.

I hope that bastard driving with a "permanently revoked license" spends a lengthy time in jail. He obviously, is a hazard to public safety considering the fact he had an October, 2006 incident and was charged at that time for "driving on a permanently revoked license" I'm unsure of what happened at that time but that is precisely what he was charged with in October, last year. Now 3 months later he injures 4 children. What's next? If he gets no jail time, what will it take before justice is served, maybe taking a life? The courts have already indicated he has no business behind the wheel considering the fact they "permanently revoked his drivers license" and Donald Tappin obviously doesn't care to obey the Judge's order.

He should definately get a lengthy jail sentence for this. This incident would have never happened if he listened to the Judge who took his license for life, and obviously was justified in doing so by this current incident.

Atleast 20 years. He has proven to be a major concern in regards to the Public's Safety.

Or we could tear down these so-called "residential neighbourhoods" where these ice-cream junkie children appear to congregate. Only then will we turn the tide on this War on Confections.

Are you suggesting the ice cream truck driver (which was actually a van) is the one who should be charged with a crime?

Let's say, there was no ice cream truck. Children still play in their yards in a residential area. This will never end. Do you not feel the children have rights to play in their yards either?

Example: a couple of kids are playing with a ball in their very own yard. The ball gets loose and goes out into the road. The child's reflex action is to chase the ball (in the mind of the child is focused on one thing, the ball) which the child does. By the way the children are playing in their own yard being supervised by a parent sitting on the front porch. The parent sees the child start to run after the ball and hollers "NO!" while at the same time getting up and follows after the child but it's too late, the child was hit by a car traveling faster than 50 mph down the road with a maximum speed limit of 30mph. Would you not hold the driver of the car accountable for the Death of the child?

I really don't think that the issue is whether or not a well marked truck driving down the road playing the musical tones delivering ice cream to the neighborhood children should be seen as a bad thing. As for the driver of the car, he had no reasons or justifications to be driving by the order of Judge which the driver of the car completely disregarded the order and therefore be sentenced for a very long time.

Well if it's about accountability, I suggest we boycott all car manufacturers who produce vehicles capable of travelling at speeds in excess of human-powered ambulatory movement, say - six miles per hour, until such time as our ice-cream junkie-laden streets are no longer imperiled by speeding drivers.

Dobbs your being ridiculous and going FAR beyond the scope of the problem. The most obvious answer is mandatory condom use on all cow utters. This will destroy the child killing pestulence that ice cream is once and for all.
