I've one more year in High school. Then I don't know if I will go to college immediatelly or work a year so I don't have to take huge loans to pay for my education.

I have two completely unrelated associates degrees, but I am sure those don't count.

I have nearly a bachelors, and start graduate school before too long........

I know I am educated, just not sure what counts as "college educated" does that mean you have taken courses at a college? if so then yes, and so are my children.

i would think that it entails having taken some minimum-number-to-be-determined-later of classes. otherwise "do you have a college degree?" would be a more appropriate question.

so college is the same as university?

In the US, college and university are interchangable...generally, a college will offer degrees in only one program (a teaching or nursing or music college, for example) where a university will be made up of several colleges. This isn't a rule, however.

You could probably guess that he was talking about the US system by the fact that his location says "The United States"

Yes to all three. In most surveys, the category for the first two would be "some college." If you have a two year degree, you have completed college in the sense that you finished the required curriculum.

As for me, I have a BA in English and a MFA (60 hours) in Creative Writing and did a Fellowship at Stanford for two years.

so college is the same as university?

Universities are made up of different colleges--mine has a College of Arts and Sciences, a College of Nursing, a College of Business, etc. The advantage of a university is that it allows for a well-rounded education.

Yes, assuming college means university.

I graduated in 2003, and went on with post-grad. I'm currently preparing a doctoral thesis, I'll hopefully have my first research article published in a few months, and I'm beginning my proper career as a teacher at university (as opposed to just getting one year teaching contracts at unis previously).

Marking exam papers takes ages, but at least it's less stressful than being a student taking exams. ;)

And then you get a school like Boston College, which is actually a university, and isn't in Boston...go figure.
