I was just counting documents in the My Documents folder, but not those in any other folders in My Documents. Counting everything, it's 1924 files in 214 folders making up just under 9GB of disk space.

For me, I rarely keep things in the "My Document" folder. I have two 40 Gig Portable drives for those.

and I am picking up a 121 gig portable soon.

A general one, a university one and a long defunct @bt.com one which I only use as my username logon for MSN.

~5 emails a day combined.

Averaged over the year... 1 page every two days.

I have 48 files directly in my documents. It also contains 19 folders which contain 1063 more folders within them and a total of 11,579 files in those folders.

Mind you, I do have a self-contained version of CS in my documents which contains half of all those files.

Substituting my home folder for My Docs, 33 items, plus some subfolders with their own items inside. The system says my home folder and all ssubdirectories contain 1248 items. About half of that is from source codes, but it gives a pretty good idea.
