Why is this odd? We are intelligent people, (NOT speaking for everyone) therefore it may be deducted that we are too be alienated from sexually extravagent lifestyles, more so a life of quiet intellect.... Or we're just realllly ugly.

I said it was odd just because, stastically, only around 2 percent of Americans over 30 are virgins, according to the various statistics I've read. Of course, most of the people are probably in their twenties, but I couldn't imagine the figure would be as high as 46 percent (that's what it's at here as I'm posting). I guess that means either we're a young forum demographically, or people who post on forums just aren't very kinky. Or maybe, people didn't respond to the poll accurately...no couldn't be.

It's not as if many of them are actually lying either, as long as you take into account that it's only important for long term relationships. Anything up to a few months and intellect doesn't get a look in. It's the same as lads saying looks don't matter - in terms of the immediate response and resulting affair, it just isn't true most of the time. I figure it means I might have a better time of it when I'm older, but until then I'll make do with getting really lucky and finding occasional girls whom I really like and who like me back. Believe what you like, but speaking for myself, I wouldn't so much as have lunch with a guy I didn't think was fairly intelligent and nice. Intelligence matters a heck of a lot more than whether someone is conventionally physically attractive. When I met the guy I nearly married, I described him to a friend as "funny-looking." After I got to know him, I described him as "devastatingly sexy." His appearance didn't change a whit in that time - all that happened was that I found out how smart and funny he was.

I've recently realized that most people have a different idea of parties than I do...my parties usually involve playing video games and eating pizza with maybe 5-10 friends (the way my birthday party will be this Sunday. I like it because it's one of the only times I see my friends outside of school all year.)That isn't a party...its a social gathering, but not a party.

I don't know about you guys...but most parties I go to have 50-100 people drinking beer and dancing to loud music and flashing lights...

Chillin with your friends eating pizza and playing video games is...chillin with your friends eating pizza and playing video games. I do it to and love it to death, but I'd hardly call it a party.
I wouldn't trade a night of chilling with my boys for anything, but definatly not a party (well, considering we live together...yeah. But even if other people come by)
There is nothing like going to a party where you only enter knowing 5 people and leave having talked to about 50 (and usually don't remember their names, yet get facebooked by them the next morning...creepy)

I think the biggest problem in todays society, is that people allow too many outside influences to affect their day to day relationships with their spouses. Too many demands and not enough time paid to the significant other in our lives today. I know because I was one of the guilty ones.

I now have a second chance with a wonderful lady and I will be paying attention this time. :)

Over 30 and most were many years ago... before I was ever in a serious relationship. Since then.. there's been 5 .. including 3 of whom I was in long term relationships. Within the past 6 years, I've been with one .. and this was recently.. we've been friends/associates for about 8 years.. and finally decided to just do it. :D
