"The family of a California woman who died after participating in a radio station's water-drinking contest to win a Nintendo Wii will sue the station, their lawyer said on Thursday.

Jennifer Strange, 28, a mother of three, died from suspected water intoxication after taking part in Friday's competition, "Hold Your Wee for a Wii." About 20 people tried to out-drink each other without going to the bathroom. "

Did her kids get the Wii? That should distract them from the loss of their mom. What kind of a moron drinks so much that they die from it? I guess now we know.

Easy to do if you're on Ecstacy.

I have no idea why they didn't think about the risks of it when not under the influence of drugs, though.

I still think an adult should be smart enough to know what they are getting themselves into.

I've been listening to excerpts from the show. I hope those Dj's are charged with criminal negligence. They had worried people calling in all day warning them of the dangers. At one point one DJ says "yeah we know it's dangerous, that's why we had them sign a waiver."

Sad thing is that poor woman was the runner- up. So her family won't be getting any wii.

She might have been a dumbass but that doesn't excuse the DJ's.

So why should someone else pay for somebody being stupid? While I do not condone the fact something was set up as a contest that was dangerous.... does not excuse the fact the people who participated were stupid. and made their own choice to do it.

I heard the audio.

"My head is starting to hurt..." - Dead momma.

You can kill yourself by drinking too much of anything and it's pretty obvious when you're body is saying "stop you fucking idiot". Legally the Dj's aren't reliable, but I hope they succumb to the guilt and kill themselves eventually.

I have to wonder what the children will think in ten years and hear the tape.

"Wow, I'm kinda glad she died. Las thing I needed was her as a rolemodel."

Disclaimer: I'm in a bad mood today.

It makes me wonder if it would be legal to hold deathmatch's for such things so long as you included a waiver.

For some reason, and I have no idea why, but I can't help but feel that this woman was incredibly noble. And I mourn her passage a lot more than I do the usual '...and finally' dead morons...

Sacrificing ones life for video games is the most noble thing one could do.

Almost as bad as the guy who died by falling off a four story balcony while seeing if he can spit farther than his brother. May she rest in peace.

There should be a monument in Washington just for these people.

I'm guessing it's the water drinking.
