Im thinking 'scripted moment'. I seriously doubt that, even if a person hasnt seen a map in five years or so, they could NOT know where France is. Much less confuse it with Australia.

Well, Saso--the character name of the person who reminded me of you--was about your age, married, had at least one kid, and acted like you all over the place. It was scary. At some points I was tempted to ask if she was you, but I decided not to because I thought it might ruin my cover persona, which I kept up because I didn't want some people I knew who played EverQuest knowing it was me on there.

There were a few that they messed up on though, I noticed. The 'How many world wars' question is open to debate, even if the obvious answer is 'two', but considering that pretty much the entire world was involved in the Cold War, three could be a correct answer as well.

That and it looked like a few people were either paid or joking. The 'Al Queda is a suicide group in Israel' guy kept glancing at somebody behind the camera and was trying not to laugh, for instance.

CNNN was an awesome show. I think it got axed though. (I wouldn't know since I haven't really watched TV in about 3 years) CNNNN was a part of "the Chaser" which still shows on ABC (not sure when, as I also do not watch 'tv', however The Chaser releases it's episodes on YouTube for all too see). The show you are thinking of was 'The Glasshouse' which recently got contraversially axed by the newly appointed (and notoriously right wing) ABC Board, despite having fantastic ratings and bringing enormous viewers to the ABC. Most understand the move as an act of affirmation by the new board to portray an image of being 'tough' on the left-bias ABC has developed (and simultaneously justify their appointment to their right-wing masters in the federal parliment, whilst also ensuring many years of continued 'service' to the people of Australia- who we musn't forget are the ones paying their wages). The end of that first video is downright scary, though.

Q: Your President says Kyrgyzstan is a threat to the security of the United States. Do you agree?
A: Well, if he says it, it must be true.
Q: Would you support a war against Kyrgyzstan?
A: If President Bush says we have to invade Kyrgyzstan, he must be right, and I'll support him all the way.

Not just once, but again and again!

I don't suppose it's all that surprising, sadly, but it just shows (again) that a great many people are willing to believe anything, and support a war based on not a shred of evidence or thought of their own.

Quite the one taking the words from my mouth tonight, eh? Yeah, 'Blimey' is Cockney, I believe. Although Cockney did have a big influence on the formation of the early Australian accent, it has largely faded away. An Australian saying 'Blimey' is about as rare as an Australian using 'Rhyming Slang'. Incidentally, I think the reason people keep asscociating it with us isbecause of that Simpsons episode...

Nope, I definitely knew the glasshouse, as it was one of the few shows I sat down to watch occasionally. I just thought CNNNN might have been axed, because I don't really expect cool locally produced shows to survive for very long anymore. Funny, that. :p

I don't know. It looks vaguely familiar, and hints about the winter cold might suggest so over more northerly cities. I noticed in the opening part of the video a logo on the planter behind the man - the sun? Wasn't that part of the tourist campaign for Brisbane?

True, but notice how the same people are making the most absurd comments. It's funny, but we can't really be sure how many intelligent people he had to skip over.

(although i'd bet that 99% of people fell for the John Howard stunt, since nobody would know what he looked like. I don't know what Stephen Harper looks like, for example, even though i'd recognise his name as PM of Canada.)

Well, I did say 'late breakfast'. It's 5:30 pm, and it's camenbert that's doing its oven time (I'd never 'cook' anything for regular breakfast either). It's just that I haven't eaten anything yet today, and I'm a stickler for names like that.. I also refuse to call a day 'the next day' when I haven't slept yet (but am intending to; things are different when you plan on not sleeping). I'm a "cheese isn't to be eaten cold, in any way, shape, or form" person, but hot, cheese is very eadable in many forms, including pizza topping, filling, and, well, baked camenbert.
