Democrats pass last bill of 100 hours
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,244539,00.html
Now that this frenzy of bill passing has ended, I hope that there will be plenty of gridlock in the Senate, as well as in the House from now on, and that both parties are rendered impotent by rancor and partisanship. (Judging from John Boehner's remarks, I think the rancor and partisanship is already planted.)

I'll be happy if the Castle bill and Obama's Iraq bill are both defeated.

I'm smiling because my student loans' interest rates were cut.
If that one passed. Did it?

Don't smile yet--it still has to get through the Senate and the Republicans there still have the power of the filibuster. Don't think for a second that they'll refuse to use it, no matter how badly they cried like bitches whenever the Dems filibustered bills over the last six years.

If I was a senator, I would filibuster everything. It would be awesome. I'd bring the legislative process to a halt.

I totally would. I just need a good way of dodging cloture, and one or two buddies in the senate to take over reading from the phonebook while I sleep.

I'd do the phonebook reading (possibly mixed in with one of my own books when I start publishing, just so I can plug it on C-Span.)

Just start picking long political polemics to read, like Das Kapital, The Wealth of Nations or long novels like Moby Dick or the Bible.

You forgot War and Peace, as well as the LotR trilogy.
Follow it up with a recitation of every Supreme Court decision in the history of the US, and there you go.

The Ilidas was cool, but the Odyssey was really irritating. I think it's better geared for oral presentation, as opposed to being read.
