I cannot seem to think of a topic about which I would like to persuade my class. I have some time, but I wanted to think of topics in advance for all my speeches. I'm out of ideas at the persuasive speeches, though, and would like some inspiration. So, O Wise Ones of NSG, assist me at your own peril. :p Feel free to suggest viable topics other than the restorative powers of mud and the deliciousness of pancakes.

The pointlessness of Toasters.

Think about it, they are woefully ineffective. You stick bread in them, and one side will come out more done than the other, or the toaster will just tempermentally decide to undertoast or burn it. And God help you if you are foolish enough to toast anything with a crust on one side (a bagel or a bap, f'rinstance), because the crust is just going to get totally burnt.

You're better off using a grill. Full stop.

It's not really homework help. I just need inspiration. I need ideas. I've been under the impression that I should be thinking great things, as cliche as it sounds, but I can't seem to find words and thoughts that match. It really isn't so much about the homework as it is helping me move past a block in my thought processes.

People who don't eat toasted things. You know how often I use a toaster, for example? I'm pretty sure I haven't for at least some five months or so.

Persuade people that persuasion is really persuasive.

Persuade them to stop using consuming animal products.
Start boycotting corporates.
start pushing for an end to mercantilism.
Start using public transportation.
Stop watching TV.


Tonnes of things. Open a fucking newspaper. 90% of the shit in it will be easily preventable stuff that nobody cared to nip in the butt.

Take a moral or belief you hold dear and argue the case against.

Edit - Perhaps best if it is also one held by the class.

Persuade them to stop using consuming animal products. I don't think they should stop, so too much work, and not enough conviction for a good speech.
Start boycotting corporates. Not interesting enough. They've probably heard it before but don't really care.

Start using public transportation. Some of them already do. It is too inefficient for some.
