I'd vote, because I can't get sex regardless. However, if the opportunity presented itself, I'd choose sex in a heartbeat. After all, my vote is irrelevent anyway.

Precisely how would "chaste" be defined? I mean, if we're just talking plain ol' penis-in-vagina intercourse, I could probably cheerfully live without that for quite some time. If we're including any sexual activity whatsoever, though, I think I'd have to give up my vote.

I would, however, try to make up the difference by sending attractive, scantily-clad hookers to the doors of at least one or two people with opposite opinions to my own each voting cycle. ;)

1.Why should abstinence be a proof of my concern for the public affairs?
2.How is the government going to check that I don't have sex for one year? Is it going to place a spy at my shoulders 24/24, 7/7, 365d/y (366d/y on bisexties?) Is it going to spy on my bedroom? I don't think that such a government would exist in a place where elections are held...

Being asexual, in one way i'd be happy about this, as less people voting would mean mine would count more. But on the other hand, all the mentalist conservative folk would outvote me...and that would be shite. A better idea would just be not to have elections at all, and everyone just do as I say. Non?

Oh hell. I guess I'd have to choose sex. Not that I've had it with anyone but myself in the last year, so maybe that doesn't count. But if the oppotunity comes up with the right person I'm not going to miss out.
Besides, I only get to vote a couple of times a year and given the choice I'd have sex a hell of a lot more than that. And I live in Oklahoma. Voting consists of picking the guy I hate the least.

There would be 2 main political parties at such elections:
Firstly there would be religious fanatics who want even more limitations for haveing a sex.
Secondly there would be political party "sex for everyone" which main program would be ensureing that every person can get easily free sex always then they want, that party would be supported by people who want sex but don't get it.

first of all, the premise of this hypothetical (like most hypothetical 'either-or' scenarios) is absurd. But if this were to be the case, at least I would be able to vote in the next election. My fiancee and I are waiting.
