Anime question?

Lacadaemon

Just supposing, for the sake of argument, that your good old uncle Lacadaemon could fix it so there was a major anime festival in NYC at a major venue - like some big museum with a full theater - well then:

What would you like to see?

Would you go?

Plz also explain what sort of thingy ding would you like for the festival. Should it be like a star-trek convention, or should it be like normal people just showing up.

Your input is appreciated.

(Well except that full metal alchemist will be part of the program, cos I like that show).

I mean, it's not like more typically western animation isn't weird, in it's own way. Admittedly we're more used to it and hence may find it less weird, but objectively, it's probably just as weird.

What would you like to see?Oh, anything really. I'm not picky.

Would you go?I'm not planning on going to the US any decade soon, not untill they return to some measure of sanity in their 'security' protocols..

Full Metal Panic! is goodly stuff. Go for FMP!: The Second Raid if they have it, much higher quality, character-development wise.

I'm not really big into anime, but since you asked for my input.

As for what you might want, that'd depend on who you want/expect to attend. For me personally, I'd as much Miyazaki and Osamu Tezuka as possible.

As far as doing it a la a convention, I just wonder if you have any experience attending conventions? I havn't done anime conventions, but I have done some wargaming, RPG gaming, and SF conventioning, and those are similiar sorts or events. If you aren't familiar with conventions, I'd avoid it, but if you are, you'll know what goes into organising such an event.

I'd only go to make fun of people and meet any NSG people.... NYC NSG get-together would be cool...

So I'd go to see NSG people and Miyazaki. Cause he's awesome.
But I probably wouldn't be bothered to go anyway.

Sure is. He keeps coming out of retirement to make new movies too.

ELFEN LIED!!!!

I probably wouldn't go, though. NY is 3000 miles away.

And it would be better with normal people. Not like Star Trek conventions.

I'm not a huge anime person. I usually watch what is on Adult Swim on Saturdays, but if I were to go I would like to see some Cowboy Bebop, like Snafturi.
