I'm going into the city on Tuesday to enrol in TAFE, and while we're there, me and my friends are gonna go get pancakes. We're hoping to be there before 12 to get breakfast.

What would you have?

Farmer's Breakfast (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/Crumbed_Ocean_Fillet/farmersbreakfast.html)

Country Breakfast (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/Ham_Steak_With_The_Works/countrybreakfast.html)

Eggs Benedict (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/Breast_of_Chicken/eggsbenedict.html)

Canadian Pancakes with the Works (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/Mexican_Beef_Crepes/canadianpancakes.html)

American Style Buckleberry Pancake (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/Fresh_Strawberries/buckleberrypancake.html)

Any of a variety (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/Russian_Blintz/shortstacki.html) of (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/ShortStackC/shortstackc.html) shortstacks (http://www.pancakeparlour.com/Menu/BuckwheatSS/buckwheatss.html)

I'm partial to the American Style, personally.

Now with added pollage! :)

The German ones look like crêpes, just not as overly thin.

Bacon, egg and tomato, with pancakes?
Bacon and scrambled egg with blueberry pancakes?

To an Englishman these things sound very odd. Pudding and main course on the same plate? Even including syrup? Odd, indeed.

Not that I wouldn't happily try them, but until I do I can't pass judgement.

Here in Aus, yeah, they're a lot like crepes. At least, the ones my mother makes. She's German though, so maybe I don't speak for the rest of Australia.

Well, even if it's just her, she definitely imported something good.

They sound similar to English pancakes (Scottish pancakes are more like American pancakes), which're made from eggs, plain flour and milk. Same batter mix as Yorkshire Pudding (Which isn't a dessert ;) ).

Edit:
Heee, always cracks me up when you guys say pudding instead of dessert. :p

Pudding is a very versatile word! Pudding, black pudding, yorkshire pudding and steak and kidney pudding, ye great pudding :)

Ah, so it really is just the silly Americans with the little round thick pancake stacks, it seems.

Same batter mix as Yorkshire Pudding (Which isn't a dessert ;) ). It isn't? What is it then? All I know is that Black Pudding is blood sausage.
I think. <.<
Which would kind of exlude it from being a dessert.
I would hope. <.<

Yorkshire pudding is baked pancake batter, typically served with meat. Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_Pudding).
It's also used to make Toad in the Hole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toad_in_the_hole), which is brilliant.

For some reason, I don't find any of those pictures appetising.

I like them simple, with maple syrup and cream. But I can't eat that at the same time as bacon and eggs. Well, I suppose I can, but...yuck.

The country breakfast one looks nice, but I can't eat that much for breakfast (I usually don't feel so great in the morning for a while after I get up, and I rarely if ever motivate myself to eat anything :p)

I'm the same, unless I'm craving something. For some reason, I can always eat chocolate.

What I noticed yesterday was that they dropped the "Chunky" from the packaging. It's just "KitKat Caramel" now. I suppose it must be pretty popular.

I generally grab whatever is on special at work. Today it was triple-chocolate mars bars for 80c. *drool*

I picked the eggs benedict platter, but I'd probably do the same thing I always do with breakfast platters that include pancakes. Fob them off on the roomie. Not really fond of pancakes. And it really irritates me when they don't serve them on a seperate platter. Argh! Syrup on my eggs!
