Sure the growers are going to be hurt, but they're American capitalists, so we don't care much about them. But what are all those Mexicans that depend on the niggardly sums that the growers pay to their illegal workers going to do to survive?

I've got an idea. We've accepted the idea that it's okay for illegals to displace American workers. Why not just take it one step further and allow them to displace unemployed American workers? Or better yet, why not just let them displace American welfare recipients and solve the whole problem of Mexican welfare, once and for all?

any insurance money will be used to replaced damaged trees and such, I don't think it will be enough to keep the workers paid.

The insurance would be for the replacement of goods- hence, they would be to replace the lost citrus. It is unlikely and illogical that the growers would have insurance to keep themselves from firing their workers.

Get your epithets right. If anything, the statements were bigoted and not racist. That's because I never said anything about race. Second, Hispanics are only a different race if you buy into all the social crap. They are biologically, anthropologically, and genetically Caucasians. So, how can I promote my racial superiority without promoting that of Hispanics.

Illegal workers are just that -- regardless of race, or national origin.

Perhaps these USian workers who have been apparently displaced could have found work picking fruit. After all, there was a labour shortage...
