I have just started reading Michael Palins diaries from 1969 to 1979 and he has listed the working titles for Monty Python that the BBC rejected.
The question is, which one would you have chosen (and why)

The Algy banging hour. :p
Closely followed by Wither Canada, and Ow! It's Colin Plint.

Always thought Owl Stretching Time was better than Monty Python's Flying Circus.
i als like the two last ones, but i chose the third one with the horses and the spoons etc.

I wish the BBC had the bottle to launch a programme called 'The toad elevating moment' myself:p

If I ever open a pub I'm calling it The Horse, Spoon, and Bucket.

For anyone interested, the book is a really interesting read - both funny and as a good historical piece about the evolution of British comedy.
It's published by Orion Books, ISBN 0-297-84436-9

Wither Canada, closely followed by the Algy Banging Hour.

i'd have picked Monty Python's Flying Circus, but if that was not an option then i'd have picked the spoon one.

It was a toss up for me really...I went with the algy banging as it sounds a bit like weird sex....does that make sense? no? good.....but then so does owl stretching...and toad elevation...and a horse, a spoon and a bucket....and why does Colin Plint hurt?
I don't really care. But the BBC should rename itself "A horse, a spoon, and a bucket". Because plain old "British Broadcasting Corporation" is just boring and overused.

Plus it's what they use to make all their programmes. *nods*
Ugh, they're all bad. No wonder BBC rejected them. :P

"Wither Canada" but I agree with Ilie (and the BBC), they all pretty much sucked.

Algy Banging Hour would have been hilarious. I also liked owl stretching time.

You left out Gwen Dibley from the poll. Sorry, mate, but you fail at Python history. :p
