So...

What comic strips do you follow? Why? What about them do you find funny/thought provoking?

I don't "follow" them because that would be pretty impossible, seeing how at least one doesn't appear anymore and I don't live in the US and have access to the Sunday paper funnies, but Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side are unsurpassed. :)

What are "Rose Is Rose" and "Pickles"? Are those in the Tribune-Review?

I read Garfield, Baby Blues, Dilbert, Zits, Baby Blues, Mallard Fillmore, The Wizard of ID (awesome), Hagar the Horrible, and sometimes the Lockhorns.

The Far Side: Kind of reminds me of NSG sometimes. ;)

I don't know. I don't get the Tribune. They're both in the Observer Reporter for sure and I think they're both in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Vaguely Doonesbury and If..., both of which are in the Guardian. I don't buy it every day, hence the 'vaguely'.

I used to follow Foxtrot, but that just ended daily run a couple of weeks ago.

Something's telling me that Pearls Before Swine may be its replacement. And also, I would actually like to see the Boondocks published in something, but many papers are too scared to do so.

I hardly ever read the newspaper comics anymore, but I do keep up with plenty of webcomics. Let's see, there's...

* Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/)
* Sinfest (http://www.sinfest.net/)
* The Perry Bible Fellowship (http://www.pbfcomics.com/)
* Dinosaur Comics (http://www.qwantz.com/)
* Animals Have Problems Too (http://www.animalshaveproblemstoo.com/index.php)
* xkcd (http://xkcd.com/)
* Morsel Disruption (http://www.morseldisruption.com/Archive.html)

Plus, I've got several big books of Calvin and Hobbes and The Far Side... nothing like 'em anywhere else.

The only comics I actually read regularly are online - Order of the Stick, Something Positive, and Questionable Content. I've very much enjoyed Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, and Foxtrot whenever I have happened to see them in newspapers or books.

yeah... I also miss Bloom County. Outland and Opus just doesn't have the same flair as "Pear Pimples for Hairy Fishnuts."

Oh, I had forgotten about Bloom County. I really liked that. I'll have to steal my brother's books and read them again.

Only webcomics. I'll read printed comics when I have a newspaper in my hands but usually just get annoyed at the pure lack of funny and just say 'what!?' is an increasingly loud and squeaky voice until I decide to through the offending paper away.

In other news, I am drawing the comic for my student newspaper starting next fortnight. The first strip makes a punchline out of nipple expositure, just as all comics should!!!
