For straight men, what sorts of women's hosiery appeals to you most?

In that case ankle socks or (Kamisama forgive me) lose socks. I'm not that big of a fan of hose itself as I like bare legs anyway.

Not only do I like stockings with garters because they're sexier, but they have their sensible side too. With pantyhose, if you get a run you have to toss the whole pair. With stockings you only have to toss the leg with the run.
And stay up thigh highs never stay up on me. Apparently elastic doesn't work for me.

Oh lordy. Are they still wearing loose socks out in the inaka? OTOH, my good buddy Bob bought a pair for his Halloween costume a couple years ago (there's always some joker who's gotta do the HS girl uniform, neh). He wore them all winter long under his jeans for warmth.

re the benefits, I understand they are also healthier to wear compared to pantyhose or tights, due decreased infections.

Big fan of thigh-high stockings/socks, knee highs, and most of all garters and stuff.

I voted on option 1 'cos though I'm apparently bent, it's still what I prefer.

Meh. Rather like high heels, its a variable feature of female dress that I've never quite understood or particularly appreciated. When it comes to legwear, practical and comfortable would win my vote.

I only wear hosiery on special occasions, for which I like stockings with garters. I wore pantyhose for decades and I hate them (though I only came to despise them after I stopped wearing them). I usually just wear socks. ;)

Of course, it depends on whether we're talking about everyday wear or special occasions. I'd agree with JuNii on the everyday front but for special occasions I like to wear stockings and garters and I do love to see a nicely-turned leg similarly adorned.

I also consider myself a gentleman, and assuming that the woman would have no objection, and would also enjoy the attention, I stated my preference for stockings and garters for special occaisions, just as you stated your preference as to what you would like to wear.

Go you, Isidoor! My post count isn't much bigger than yours, and I've been around for a lot longer. All these high numbered posters don't know what these milestones mean to the little guy.

As for personal preference for hoisery; none. They're generally very uncomfortable, and if they're tight they can be somewhat restrictive. They can look nice, but if you have to move in them then the effect can sometimes be ruined! :rolleyes:

Fishnets have been all the rave back in Japan for a couple of years. Then again, many young women in Japan dress in what to my US bred eyes and mind appears to be a more provcative manner than in the US. My first couple of years I had some Japanese friends who invented the "who's the real street walker" game for me. :rolleyes:

Well, there are footless tights..... but they're utterly foul. They cut off the leg at the ankle in the most unflattering way and make it look short and shapeless and just eurgh...... [/rant :p]

One should ensure that, well, one wants a certain amount of airflow around the aforementioned area. Cotton is good for this, whereas nylon and various other synthetic materials tend to block said airflow. Ahem.

Some are, but honestly I've seen more of them over in Tokyo. I guess they're still popular with some schools.

I like garter belts/suspenders--
For certain gerters are the beesknees.

I go into great detail as to why...but the main reason is the straps for the garter frame the butt of a woman nicely.
I am a butt and leg guy so garter belt for certain.

I almost never wear any sort of hosiery. I've never seen much of a point to it, to be honest. It's usually uncomfortable, and rarely fits well. (Plus, "flesh-colored" hose never comes in any color even remotely similar to that of my skin, so I end up looking like I'm wearing someone else's legs.) I have perfectly nice legs, and I figure that if I'm wearing something that shows them off, I might as well actually show them off rather than hiding them under a nylon sheath.

(Of course, I can see wearing a garter belt or fishnets for sex special occasions, but beyond that...) ;)

I have worn tights as part of a period costume. They were really comfy.
