Caesar Series

All right, I was going through my extensive collection of old games and I found my old copy of Caesar III. Bored, I popped it in and started playing.

Man, I've forgotten how much fun this thing can be. And I'm doing even better now that I know how to balance my budget and make sure that my exports exceeds my expenses, and that I can handle large populations (God knows how I'm going to handle Syracuse, though; precious little farmland, demand for oil, and with the Greeks knocking on my doorstep -- with swords).

Anyone else remember this game/series?

I have both Caesar III and Caesar IV. They are really addicting once you get the city going, and it's fun.

C4 has the same concept of C3, but it has much better graphics and gameplay. At least I think so anyway.

I had Caesar III (I might still), and it was a lot of fun... Until the gameplay issues started popping up, such as market walkers changing their routes and screwing over vast areas of insulae.

That shit was annoying.

I played Caesar II a lot. It was a great game.

Played 3 a bit too.

Then again - the ability to house the complete workforce for my pigfarms in one small tent with well while the rest of my city blossomed elsewhere was fun.

As was the "what the hell is this shit" comment in the manual.

Really? I'm going to have to try it.

Caesar IV is out and I still need to get it. Caesar III opened the door to a whole new world to me. :) Everytime I see the granary and wheat fields, I think of triscuits...
