Where do you get your online news?
For those of you who get at least part of your news online, what websites do you go to?

there should be an NSG news station
Well, there is, sort of.
Of course, we could have a thread exclusively for regular news updates, links to news articles and so on...
Among the options I chose, other websites of channels.

Good old Auntie Beeb, that's where.
(Is there any other group of people in the world who refer to their largest television network as a member of the family? Because if not, there are worse things to be unique for...)

What everyone else said about NSG is true but in addition I generally check the Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/)website daily and the BBC too.
Sometimes I also have a little look *whispers so as not to kick up a Centrist riot of anger* at the guerllia news network (http://www.guerrillanews.com/) too.........I know they're pretty mental over there but I do like some of the articles that they find me from around the internet. For example: http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/46602/

Yes, I realised a bit late that there was no "other" option... Sorry about that. But I'd have needed 11 options then.
Care to tell us which channels?
I've recently been exploring video news from countries around the world, just to see a few foreign perspectives. Amongst others (but all in English), you can watch news from Russia (http://broadcast.global-mix.net/?m=playout247-russiatoday-tv&.wvx) (live), Australia (http://www.abc.net.au/vod/news/), Barbados (http://www.cbc.bb/components/com_audiovideo/playAudioVideo.php?mode=en#) and Belize (mms://200.32.198.90/7news). (Yes, I've been going alphabetically...)

Thank you for that. It's certainly a fresh perspective. ;)

Google News. (http://news.google.com). It is fantastic. You can change the layout and customise each section to show a certain number of stories.

The second example's "style", with the first one's "tagline".
Actually, we could have a news thread, if anyone thinks it's worth it.
I'm thinking a thread started by a new nation account that several of us would have the password to. Whenever a new news thread is posted in NSG, one of us links to it from the "news thread" OP. That OP could for example have links for the past four days (or more), categorising by day and by category (country, science, culture, etc...).
Anyway, just an idea that started making its way round my mind after someone here suggested an NSG news service. ;)

I think the tagline should be more concise. How about "News, Commentary, Debate", as that's the way things are done here (article posted, with commentary - debate follows).

From my gut, of course. I don't trust those websites and their "facts." :)

You think it's better with the "NationStates" bit rather than just the eye, then?

I don't get my news online...hell will freeze over before I do. I just look for sports scores and who won what award..other than that I don't get sqwat online about current events..I will check various TV outlets and newspapers for that. I have Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and BBC America that airs BBC News...so I can get a rather nice array of news from a broad political sense from that.
