Technically, no.

But I got it dark as it gets. Concievably there's a point where it doesn't reflect enough color for our eyes to register it as something other than black.

When I was young, it was mahogany brown.
As I got older and started graying, it was anywhere from red to reddish-purple.
Now it's salt and pepper, mostly salt.

In my expierience, most people that consider themselves dirty blonde, have naturally dark hair, with highlights, or something artifical too that effect. Also, many people with brown hair, with strands of lighter hair consider themselves Dirty Blonde, when this is not the case.

Don't forget Africans, Australasians and Native Americans.

I heard a fun theory for the existence of all the various colorations in European follicalry. It all goes back to the ice age where the all-male hunter/scavenger groups would have a higher death rate than the all-female stay-in-the-cave-and-raise-young'uns group, thus making competition for females incredibly intense, and leading to the females pick the males with the distinctive plummage.

That's what I meant to say. Anyone who isn't descended from a European normally has black hair.

I think the generally accepted theory is that hair colour comes from varying melanin levels. With blonde, brown and ginger having lower levels of melanin than black hair, meaning the body is producing less melanin meaning that the body is more suited for a more northerly habitat.

I once dyed it for the purpose of a disguise (I was playing a hide-and-seek game in a mall). I was going for blonde, but it turned out red. I was pleased with the result. aw man...now I'm almost disappointed.

If it is any consolation, I look horrible with blonde hair. Kinda like eminem, but with really dark eyebrows.

but I WAS born blonde, and was various shades untill I was 6 or 7 before it would be called "brown" instead of "dirty blonde"

Well, I guess he's not that blonde.. Let's call it dirty blonde. I have photos. Are you right handed, or left handed?

On a sadder note; after printing off 70some 4x6 photos, I have ran out of ink. :(

People think it's black, but if the light is shining on it a certain way you can sorta see that it's actually really, really dark brown. Although for the poll I just said black. Currently there are white specks in it from sloppy painting that I'm being told won't wash out. So it may or may not look like I have huge pieces of dandruff all over my head. On the plus side, my hair is encroaching on my eyes again, which means I'll get it cut eventually. On the other side, eventually, for me, means probably summerish.

Pink hair, my true love.

You know, one of the only things that I liked about Boston, was the waitress at HardRock Cafe with the pink dredlocks.

She matched my strawberry milkshake. :p

If I pull it strait it goes down just past my nose, but it naturally curls so it sorta hovers right above eye level for now. It stabs me in the eye sometimes, and can make it difficult to play sports. :(

I spent about ten years with mine dyed various shades of red, mostly a light auburn. But the light color took a lot of upkeep, roots and all. Due to laziness it's back to it's natural color. A medium to dark brown with red highlights. My mother calls it "chestnut", whatever the hell color that is.
Until recently I kept it in a chin length bob, but laziness and just lack of giving a shit has caused me to let it grow. In less than two years it's managed to get to the bottom of my shoulder blades.

My dad has naturally jet black hair, hes 74 and it's still mostly jet black, but he is greying a bit. It seems pretty rare in white people I agree. I've read that Ireland has a lot of black headed people, more than red heads... Scotland is where the high pop of redheads are. Also all the natural redheads(not strawberry blonde-but auburn) I've known have had a black haired parent or a red haired parent, but never a redhead from a blonde/blonde or brown/brown or brown/blonde. The red hair must be connected somehow to a gene in the black haired parent or something.

You really should take a look at basic genetics. All this stuff about dominant and recessive genes; it's a bit too complex to explain in a post. Put simply; if you had a blonde, blue-eyed parent, and the parent of your child also had a blonde, blue-eyed parent, even though you both have dark eyes and hair, then there's a small chance that your child will have blue eyes and blonde hair.

As for 'black-headed' Irish people; not really. There are a lot of Irish with dark brown hair, but I have yet to come across an Irish person who's parentage goes back a few generations in this country, who has 'black' hair. The dark hair possibly comes from the gypsy tradition long ago. As for redheads in Ireland; they're not very common at all! They're probably more common than in other countries, but, I only know personally a handful of Irish redheads. The Irish redhead is one stereotype that is very, very inaccurate.
