People need to not drop off the face of the earth.

Don't mind me, people. I've just been trying to get into contact with people I haven't seen in over a year, and it's an exercise in frustration. I want to talk to them, but they're either not seeing messages, or totally ignoring them.
How long have you people spent trying to get in contact with somebody you haven't seen in a while?
EDIT: Assuming that there is no reason for this person to actively be avoiding you, as I am doing with my horrible bitch-skank of an ex.

6 months and counting and 1 1/2 months or so and counting, both on twin sisters...
you should see the problem now.

No time as of yet. Maybe when I lose contact with people I want to see again I'll try.

I occasionally try to get into contact with my half brother, but he decided to vanish into the Nevada desert (which he does from time to time) in 2003 and no one has heard from him since.
I was once on the other end of someone trying to get in contact. I had an ex-girlfriend send me a letter to the base I was stationed at in Germany, and the letter went from Michigan (her house) to Germany to Colorado to Iraq to Colorado back to Michigan over the course of 2 years, and it got to my grandparents' house in Michigan about 2 days after I did when I got out of the Army.

Most of the twins I know don't tell each other everything, to be honest. They're very distinctly different from each other.

Duuuurgh. No message from them... and they have been online recently.
Maybe I should try the wondrous item known as 'email'.

Would that really be so surprising? I've never met a pair of twins (by which I assume you mean identical twins. And since identical twins only occur in 0.3% (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twins#Identical_twins)of births I'd think most people would never have met any.

Oh, I have a pair of friends who are twins, but not identical. They don't tell each other everything, though.
I've met identical twins, but never rly gotten to know them.

Understandably, although I think it probably has more to do with them being female than being twins.

I knew a set of identical twins who had sisters who where also identical twins. And they did live with each other (the ones I knew, they didn't live with their other twin sisters who where almost polar opposites) and did tell each other everything. Which weirded my shit out when her sister just started talking to me like we knew each other (you could kinda tell them apart if you knew them at all).
To the topic, I'm usually the guy who falls off the earth, I'll move and forget to tell people (once even forgot to tell a girlfriend...) etc. And for a while I wasn't that great about communication paths-I wouldn't have a phone, didn't have an e-mail address for years, etc.

Yeah, i know about the first part: The id. twin of this one girl i knew for 4 years... i hadnt really talked to her until about senior yr. of high school, and then we just started talking every day like we knew each other clearly. weird. oh, then again, i havent talked to her in a month or two or seen her since graduation, so thats a minor problem.
My Japanese host sister definitely dropped off the face of earth. A lot of people who knew her during that exchange year and I have been trying to contact her via email, messenger, and snail mail for, let me do the math here, three and a half years now, and there has been no signal from her ever since she left the country.
Incidentally, that leaves me with hearing from lots of random people ("Hey, have *you* heared from [sister's name] some time? I've been trying to reach her and thought you might know where she is") I'd never have heard form again otherwise, but..

That's a good story to tell! Did they stamp the envelope everytime another "jump" was made? That's gotta be a collector's item somehow!

Failure yet again. The email inbox doesn't exist.
What makes this the most frustrating is that it's directed at someone who (used to?) posts on NSG, and signs in at least once every few days. D:

I don't know if that means the TG box is full or they are willfully ignoring me. :(

After a certain amount of time of not seeing someone, trying to find them becomes stalker-type behavior.
Like getting a random email from someone who claims to remember you from kindergarten. And wants to hang out Tuesday.

I've tried getting in touch with a couple of people I used to be mates with at school, I got the response "We'll have to meet up for a coffee over summer"...and that was it. I'm owed a coffee.
Generally people are trying to get back in contact with me, since I'm in the habit of never calling/texting/emailing people back (they call when I'm busy, it's not my fault :P), and disappearing off to have adventures occassionally :)

The TG box doesn't get full. If it's up to 15 telegrams and another one comes in it just keeps bumping off the oldest ones.
So, um... *pats Mattybee* :(

Yes, actually. Kazcaper. She just vanished... Anyone know what happened to her?
I emailed her once or twice after she stopped posting on the forums, sent her a Merry Christmas TG, but her nation autodeleted at about New Year.

In any case, it makes me most displeased.
