Only once everyone gets broadband. Then it'll have a major impact.

The non-porn movie industry hasn't been affected much by the internet. Porn-on-disc will still survive. I wouldn't be surprised if movie porn became more and more legit and accepted into mainstream.
This would be in response to the internet:

1. The huge amount of porn available to anyone with a pc is making it more acceptable. When I was a kid getting my grubby hands on just one Penthouse was a major cause for 'celebration'. I can now see the equivalent of a years worth of Penthouse pics in a few minutes on the net. More importantly, what I can access is far harder than any magazine I 'read' when I was a kid. Without sounding too puritan I do wonder what effect this will have on the next generation. At best, it'll just make them more accepting of sex. But that's probably being very optimistic. At worse we'd have a kneejerk christian book burning reaction against it. Though that would be kinda of funny to watch them attempt to stop internet porn.

2. As I mentioned - most of the stuff on the net is much harder than magazines prior to the internet (flip thru an old pre-1990s Penthouse or Playboy to see what I mean). As a result, magazines became much more hardcore. But we will come to a limit of what they can show. Anyone with a cheap camera and a willing partner (or just enough $ for a whore) can produce and post sex on the internet equal in hardcore to anything I can buy in a mag or see on a vid.
Where to from there? They need to differentiate themselves from what's on the internet. The only way to do that is to move up. To produce quality sex movies that have stories, locations, acting(!). In other words, become a mainstream movie but with sex.

With ppl becoming more accepting of porn along with the porn industry drive to make money I wouldn't be surprised to see it becoming more mainstream.

Really cheesy "acting, stories and dialogue", certain retro fashions, creepiness, ability to disgust... it's hard to quantify, but when you see bad porn, you know if it's good bad porn or bad bad porn. Like any good bad movie and bad bad movie, really.

As for my bad porn = Ron Jeremy, I should elaborate:
I use the term 'Ron Jeremy' as a general term to typify any porn where the male protagonist is at least 100kgs heavier, 30 years older than his female (or male) counterpart and doesn't turn you on in any way whatsoever. He just reminds you of watching those NatGeo specials about rutting warthogs. Except they look more alluring.
