Okay, first thing's first I'm not saying I 'would' do it, and given a true opportunity, chances are I actually wouldn't, but it's just a rather sadistic question I started asking people in college, and I was surprised by how many people said "Yes".
So I'd rather I wasn't flamed about being a sick person...firstly, I know exactly how sick and evil I am, and secondly it's purely hypothetical...
Just wanna know if the NS community is as messed up as my college =P.

While I wouldn't kill a baby no matter now much you pay me, so long as what I was doing was completely legal and above board I would skin one but it would have to be for that much if not more. So long as it wasn't mine.

See, I totally agree with the "Money vs. Life" argument, which is something I couldn't explain to my 'peers'.
I guess that some people are just set on getting money any way possible...
As for simply skinning a baby, I'll have to get back to you on the legality surrounding it =P.

There are probably a decent amount of people on NSG who would choose yes on that poll. Did you see a thread a while back asking "Would you kill (the OP said by any means) and eat a puppy for 10,000 dollars (or some such amount)?" A lot of people seemed perfectly OK with doing that.


Edit: Now that I think about it, considering that you have created a thread that is very similar to that puppy one, you obviously saw it. (or were possibly the OP)

Absolutely not. I would never kill and mutilate a human being for money, no matter how much I was offered. I do have a sense of morality and human worth, after all.

I don't take human life. Period. I r teh pacifist... I do not need to resort to violence as I have the karminator to protect me.

Ugh, no. Maybe, MAYBE if we were talking a different kind of animal, say a puppy or a kitten, but not a sentient life form. I would not kill a sentient lifeform unless there was truly no other choice and I would regret it from then on.

Would I have to deal wth the consequences (legal, vengeful parents, social ostracisation, etc..)? If I could do it with absolutely no consequences, and i was guaranteed 1 million GBPs, then yes, I would do it. However, the ordinary consequences of such behaviour are a bit much for just a million.

Hardly. A great many people believe that there is a significant difference between a human being and an animal. Their opinion of the value of the life of one may not have anything to do with their opinion of the value of the life of the other.

Otherwise, it's like claiming that someone who is quite comfortable destroying an inanimate object is more likely to be comfortable killing an animal.

Its tempting. Really though, I'd like to know what a life is going for before I did something like that. If I got the money and made a donation that would improve/save more lives then were technically lost then from a utilitarian standpoint things would be better, especially if i still got money out of the deal. So, I'd have to have more information.

Nah Jokes U make a alright there ... puppies don't do anything bad to anyone apart from the ocassional crap on ur lawn, but humans pretty much kill everything there is... personaly I wouldn't kill anything
