And you know, if this works on livestock, I bet it could be made to work on humans.

Remember last weeks row about removing homosexuality from sheep?

Well, now they are looking for a way to turn the animal into a complete zombie.

However, GM scientists are actively investigating ways to remove the stress and aggression gene from animals, effectively turning them into complacent zombies.

The professor said it might become technically possible to produce "animal vegetables" - beasts which are "highly prolific and oblivious to their physical and mental status".

Of course, if we could get livestock to watch a lot of TV...

Surely if it was a complete zombie it wouldn't mate? So it would kind of make the whole homo gene removal process pointless.

Lets just hope meanstoanend dosen't find this and find a away to put in the water supply

I'm sure we can keep the horny gene in there...

Scientists: We'd like to reduce stress and agression in farm animals.
Daily Mail: ZOMBIFICATION!

You've got to admit, they're a class act :)

Much more exciting than the Times of London, and a bit more credible than the Sun.

Well if it can produce cheap meat with less, if any, stress and cruality to the animal then I think its a good thing.

There is no diffence to GM animals and to selective breeding, only that geneticists are taking a more direct route.

On a humerus note isn't his what the umbrela corp. tried to do in resident evil?
Anyone remember how that turned out? :D

That was a virus wasn't it?

sort of, but it was man made. Modified viruses are being tried out as a form of gene therapy at the moment so its not too unrealistic.

Only unlike in Resident Evil, we'd have photos all over the internet immediately. Everyone would be aware of it, and discussions would rage between zombie believers saying "We told you so!" and disbelievers claiming it's impossible, that it's all a hoax, ect.
