It's not that dire, but I am no good at finding original quotes in the German, so if anyone could help me find the original quote for:

"Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding"
-Martin Luther

(BTW, I guess the quote could be in Latin, which he also spoke, but any help is a big help!)

Thanks NSG!!!

The only quote I can remember from Luther is "Hier steht Ich, Ich kann nicht auch." "Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise."

Correction: Die verfluchte Hure Vernunft.

I'd offer my services, but I doubt you'd be willing to pay for them ;)

How about a heartfelt "thanks" and a cookie, a whole plateful of cookies.

You do know there are translator programs on the "interwebs", right? Try looking them up on the "googles". But be careful not to hurt yourself while googling, I wrench my neck when googling myself once.:D

"Erstlich, das man jre Synagoga oder Schule mit feur anstecke und, was nicht verbrennen will, mit erden überheufe und beschütte, das kein Mensch ein stein oder schlacke davon sehe ewiglich Und solches sol man thun, unserm Herrn und der Christenheit zu ehren damit Gott sehe, das wir Christen seien."
- Von den jüden und iren lügen, 1543

Seriously though. The German Wikiquote doesn't even list that reason one, and the English one says it's "unsourced".

Chances are he never said that. He did say however that reason is the devil's whore.

Oh, I meant the trampling reason underfoot quote.

I know for a fact that he was antisemitic, he wrote several books about it.
