So, I've got a recurring theme amongst an awful lot of my dreams that I'm going to be arrested for some heinous crime (which, in my dreams I'm sometimes guilty of, but not always), and receiving the punishment for such crimes.

Of the ones I can recall, I actually was sentenced to death by hanging once. Another time I assaulted a police officer in the dream by throwing pebbles at him, and I was arrested for that as well.

I guess these dreams occur... even though for me its more dreams like Kafka's Der Prozess...

I've had run-ins with cops in my dreams before, and not once have they ever arrested me. I always run off, and they come after me...

...I've not been caught yet. :D

Yes, but I think only because I've been arrested a few times in real life.

I've never been arrested in real life, but I have been in my dreams. Frequently I am put into prison, and I am always looking to get out because, in my dreams, I am ALWAYS innocent. Perhaps this is a reflection of my mild fear of being wrongfully imprisoned.

I once got arrested in my dream for double vehicular manslaughter.

I did have a dream about being chased by hundreds of police vehicles, several police helicoptors, and one pissed off police Sergeant while driving a BMW GT3, but that may have just been me playing too much Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

I dreamt that I shot up my school, then got arrested and put in a giant tray-shaped prison cell in space.

Once I had a dream about being arrested by customs officers for attempting to smuggle 1 million pounds of coffee in a backpack into Indonesia...

But by regular cops, no. Been killed a few times though. :)

i have a recurring dream that get's more detailed and fleshed-out every time about the time i got arrested. i remember new things that i did everytime. sometimes they are worse sometimes they are better.

never been arrested - in a dream or in real life. (that i remember anyway)
but this night i had a dream that i was a carpenter and i had to build the house for someone who looked a lot like hitler, but he was wearing farmers cloths. and he laughed with my beard, although i don't have one.
anyway, it was a weird dream.

Aaanyway... Not arrested as such... That I can recall... Chased by policemen, once or twice. Usually surrounded by blank sorta buildings, featureless but in odd shapes, all bending towards each other overhead... o_O

It wasn't a round million pounds, either. It was 1,044,000 pounds or something...(I can't remember the last three digits)

I was with a friend, too. From what I remember, The rest of that dream involved befriending the guards and prisoners....passing time by playing snakes and ladders and watching discovery channel. The judge decided to pardon us in the end because we were so likeable, and on the way out of the prison we were giving everyone high-fives.

It was pretty weird.

Often as a kid I would dream of being arrested, and I still dream at least a few times a year that I have done some crime, usually killed someone, and that the police are closing in on me or tracking me down.

The terrifying part is the realization that having killed the person, I can't un-kill them to salvage my life.

Sometimes ive had long dreams on the subject where its sort of like a mystery show and I have to misdirect the inspector who is on my case, &c.

I had a dream I stole a baby from the hospital and gave it to my neighbours for Christmas. Didn't get arrested, though.

I might have been arrested in my dreams, but one I do remember was that I was back in 3rd grade and my teachers locked us in a supermarket to mutilate our bodies with giant scissors.

I got arrested when I tried, in my dream, to drive my friend Claire around, but crashed into a telephone pole because I couldn't see over the wheel.

This is exceptionally strange as I am 5'11". :confused:

I've had dreams that involved handcuffs, ropes, a woman dressed as a cop and me being a very very bad boy. Does that count?

Yeah, I've dreamt of being chased, arrested, beaten, shot, pepper sprayed, and tasered by cops. Not all at once, although I think in one I got most of them.


Although thats no where near weird. To me, weird is William Murdercface in a German burger joint alking about orange soda on his burger, followed by hanging out with a german in Germany that looked like Hong Kong or some such. And then at my (former) high school. And then downtown being a burned out hulk where everyone I know blows blunts.

I'm usually the victim of crimes in dreams, not the criminal (kidnapped in multiple dreams (once I was even kidnapped twice by two different people in the same dream), assaulted in multiple dreams, etc.) However, I think I was arrested in a few dreams, but only in the dreams that took place in a society where walking or something otherwise silly is a crime for some people but not for others, or something like that.

I can't remember, but I probably have. I've done all sorts of wacky stuff in my dreams.

Actual yes, this was a while ago and for some reason i was skateboarding(Maybe wearing a Milk Cartoon or just walking through) near Eden Park, an absolute shit hole of a Sports venue.
This Samoan Security guard stops me we have a talk about something then he suggests i follow him, i do gladly in fact then he tells me i am under arrest a police oficer comes into the scene and arrests me.

Yep; and and usually for specious reasons too. Though they're always years apart, and the last one was when I was still in high school IIRC.
Once I even dreamed of being hanged as well, for an unspecified capital crime (although I think I was guilty in that one, at least). It was during the 19th Century though in that one, so that probably doesn't count. Years earlier though I dreamed about being vivisected for no reason whatever (and in my Art classroom too, of all places.:confused:) More normally I'm simply accosted by the usual FBI/CIA/KGB/Agent Smith types, for what I think is a personal vendetta by someone influential I made a fool out of, and the dream ends while I'm giving them the old 'not until I get my phone call' routine.

In one of my dreams (which are often violent) I was a passenger in a car that got pulled over. The officer too me to their car and I sat in the passenger seat as they talked to me... for some reason unknown to me, I took the shotgun sitting necxt to me and blew teh cops head off. I then took teh gun with me back to the pulled over car and got in. The driver looked at me as if I was nutz aand so I pointed the gun at her and told her to drive so that we could get out of there. I had her drop me off in what looked like downtown New YOrk. I went up to an apartment expecting to see some frinds. As I approced teh apartment the door was open. I walked in and a bunch of FBI folk surrounded me and started arresting me for killing an officer. I forgot how but I talked my way out of it.


In another dream I had just robbed a bank in a mall with an accomplice. All of the doors in teh mall were being blocked as teh alarm went off so we got into a glass elevator (that is on teh outside of the mall and overlooks the parkign lot) and started goign up. The accomplice starts yellign at me and accusing me of setting him up so I took out my gun and shot him in the chest three times. Then I shot out the window and jumped out. As I fell I shot myself in the head and hit the ground hard. I lied there dead but aware as people gathered around me. A dog came up and licked my face and I woke up.

Those are the only brushes with the law in my dreams that I can remember at the moment.
