Well, I admit though I do not like the idea of being around kids who berate me, I must say though I would like the idea of teaching people to be like me. Yet, I am wondering what are the other benefits and reasons to be a counselor at a camp for a couple of months?

Well, you have something to talk about when you go to Therapy. Personally I can't stand to be around children, why because the "cute" things they do are not really cute, but annoying. Dr. Cox from Scrubs put it quite nicely.

"Children are smelly, they talk in a weird language, they're just like little taxi drivers."

Personally I just want them to shut up and leave me alone, but they never do. They always want me to watch them, to talk with them, to play attention. My God, I would rather bring my dead Siamese cat back to life and hear her meow over and over than to hear the voice of a 3 year old. This is why I hope to find a wife who is either unable to produce children or is annoyed by children as much as I am.

Now, when I do become an Uncle, I will love my niece or nephew. Why, because it's blood, not only do I have to, but I probably will. Plus once the little kid does get annoying, I can just hand him or her back to my brother. Which will be fun to do.

I am a little uneasy about marrying someone who already had kids, and here's why. About 5 of my uncles on each side of the family married single mothers, they got divorced, and now they're paying child support for a child that's not even theres genetically speaking. Sooo, if I am 30 years old and still single, I shall have to bride a few OBY/GYN to find that barren woman.

The courts here in the US tend to favor the women over the men.

Really though, if their is a divorce and the kids are not his by birth or adoption then if you present a strong enough case and make the mom look like a money craving, female dog, then you win.

Sounds like you might have false expectations of the job too.
There's no need to panic - counsellors have nothing to do with psychology, psychiatry or therapy of any description! 'Counsellor' is the term given to the people on camp who are in charge of the campers' general well-being and ensure that the kids get to enjoy all their activity sessions safely. It's likely that you'll end up taking part in many of the activities, so while you don't need to be an expert, a have-a-go attitude is essential - on a typical day you could find yourself jumping from tennis, to archery, to pottery, to finding yourself being dragged across a lake on one of those inflatable banana things! You'll also find you take a full and active role in the general areas of camp - looking after a table of kids at meal times, performing skits at the flagpole and singing round the camp fire, will complete your day.

And the role doesn't end once the kids are in bed - Counsellors often take on the role of 'bunk counsellors' - they'll sleep in with & take charge of a cabin of kids. So if you have great childcare experience, but less activity experience, and you fancy taking charge of your own tribe for the summer this could be for you!Working for camp america is expensive if you're from the UK. Costs that they expect you to pay amount to around $1,000, and they give you about $500-900 for 9 weeks work...

That I've heard of. From the OP I thought it was some sort of social work thing.
