The Army said Friday it would apologize to the families of about 275 officers killed or wounded in action who were mistakenly sent letters urging them to return to active duty.

Lol, looks like the army doesnt know anymore who is alive or dead.

I thought 3.000 was a small enough number of casualties to remember.

Look, no smilies. I'm not joking.

That isn't funny.

EDIT: I mean the OP, the subject of the thread. A little mouseslip could be hurtful enough to cancel out a state funeral or a decoration for those families. We're getting perilously close to being those fanatics who spat at soldiers returning from vietnam.

I'm not disrespecting the soldiers, I'm simply bringing to your attention a morbid absurdity that I noticed in the news.

225 officers? Are you sure that's correct? That sounds like almost all the officers that have died in the war. But seriously it is terrible their families were harassed to be patriotic and serve their country when they made the ultimate sacrifice.

PS: that zombie jesus joke was hilarious!:D

I'll bet someone got transferred to recruiting station in northern Alaska for that one.
