not sure if this was posted before, but Barack Obama admitted to using marijuana and cocaine. not to discredit his run in 08, but it does tarnish it.

Oh..and that bastard Obama still hasn't returned my emails like Mr. Durbin so kindly has. If the twat runs in 08 I will abstain from voting for him.. I mean he won't even answer his constituents now, why would he in the future?

At least he's not trying to pass them off as youthful indiscretions.

so, essentially, bush admitting to smoking pot is terrible and outrageous, but obama smoked pot and did (maybe through various different ways :) ) cocaine is okay?

Im not saying either is more right or wrong than the other. But heck, I feel nowadays if I want to run for office anytime in the future, i must first rape little boys, then beat my wife, while snorting coke and then go on a high speed pursuit while DUI.

He makes me think of Baraka from Mortal Kombat.

Honesty is a fantastic thing. A lot better knowing theres nothing left in the closet.

I would actually prefer it if my President had used Marijuana in the past. :)

honestly: there are some politicians who want to paint themselves as angels, and end up looking like a tool when an old college buddy comes out with pictures showing otherwise.

So??? Who the fuck cares. It's his body and he can use whatever he wants. If I could deside I would legalize mary jane right away so the police can fight real drugs. Taking cocaine isn't smart but people do mistakes and I would rather vote for someone who seem to be more of a people person than some perfect upper class right winger who hasn't done anything wrong in his whole life.

Using drugs, being addicted to drugs, and being unable to perform the non-combat task that one had been assigned (because of addiction to drugs), are all different things....

If anything this simply gets a potentially embarrassing issue out of the way before he runs.

I think what Bush actually said was "when I was young and indiscreet, I was young and indiscreet," with that doofy-ass grin he has. He never actually admitted to anything.

It's a mix of reasons: lack of funds, for one.

I am also of the belief that if you're dumb enough to put that shit into you, you deserve what you get. (The level of damage being in direct correlation to the amount of stupidity. I don't think Barak is stupid, per se., but let's face it: he's only human. we've all done stupid things in our lives.)

I'm one of those dudes who has never, and will never, touch the stuff. I have a lot of reasons why I haven't and I don't think particularly highly about people who have. Besides, sex is so much better.

As for Barack, I don't particularly care if he did/does drugs and I don't really like him one way or another. Doesn't matter though, he is going to get an easier shake then Bush did because he speaks well. *shrugs*

Not to me. Now I'm not saying I'd vote for him anyway(jury's still out), but his youthful indiscretions don't impact my decision at all as long as they were: Youthful, fleeting and comfortably in the past. *nod*

Bush also did cocaine. Snorted it right off the sink at Camp david while his dad was Veep.

Barack Obama is one smooth dude, like smooth brandy, reading his writing is so smooth and polished that it sounds really good, but I like a little roughness around the edges. He is a bit too polished. It indicates that he is really, really smart which says a lot. Be wary. He is better than a lot of the candidates, but...

Neither marijuana nor casual cocaine use bother me, habitual cocaine use would, but four or five times is nothing to hold against someone.

Hell if he admitted it instead of lying then that is a point in his favor. As long as he doesn't do drugs NOW what does it matter if he has smoked or snorted what in the past? Hmmm. I wouldn't mind knowing what his policy is on illegal drugs though. Might be an interesting insight into the man.

I take umbrage with the notion that people aren't suitable to run for office who have enough virtue and common sense to know not to do illicit drugs.

i have an intense dislike for barak obama, but i honestly dont give a crap if he used crack and cocaine. It was 25 years ago, who really cares? He's turned around and is one of the most influential people in America.
