How about a documentary about how paint dries? You could fill 24 hours with that.

What you're describing is called a "mini-series." Do it on TV for free and maybe I'll watch one or two installments. Maybe. Oh, by the way, what's it about?

Decent paint dries in less than 24 hours, that won't do.

ok, im going to run with this one.

A really long movie shown in parts is usually called a series.
with 24 hours in it its not even a mini series.

youre going to have to have a story line that will make people want to commit to paying box office prices for each episode if you want it to be done in any movie theater.

whether it has imax or not is down to budget and won't sway people on whether they go to see it or not. the story line does that.

what's your movie about. if you're as far as script writing then you obviously have a treatment down, can we see it? or at least a synopsis?.

Or if that fails, it could be about an agent fighting terrorists. This would even have the potential for sequels!

It's a documentary. You can cover the drying process of various types of paint. If you've got a few more hours to kill, how about showing some grass growing?

I had that idea too, yeah Id go and see it, if it was like an outdoor festival projected on massive screens and speakers with amenities in close range. Otherwise I cant see how I could pay attention for 24 hours, it would be physically impossible.

if you get a lot of stuff for free (like all of your actors and all of the crew) it's still going to cost about $1500 a minute for your film, that's if you get a ton of stuff for free, don't feed anyone, don't have any special effects, and don't have to pay for filming permits.

good luck getting the money ;)

2 Questions:
What is the idea?

Do you have the slightest idea how long a good 2 full hour movie can take to make?
Mogtaria

How long did lord of the rings take to make ?
That was basically a 9 hour film after cutting (for all 3 episodes) and it's got to be at least 5 or 6 years.

i think that if you get the right people in and have a good script then it would be a hit. the reason i do it in 2 hour legths is so people dont sit in the theater for a day miss work and such just to see a movie. maby you can do with out sleep. or have vendors who walk around and give you snacks and stuff. that would work.

not if youre recording to flash memory

3hr long tape for a relatively high standard camera can cost only 2-3 euros or the US equivalent of that which would be something like 5 dollars

the kind of camera that I am using to film my movie doesn't accept flash memory.

How about a twisted version of March of the Penguins. We get Morgan Freeman to narrate your trek through the antartic, hitting every seal and penguin you see with a rock until it stops twitching.

How about you make your movie about a federal counter-terrorist who averts countless disasters in the Los Angeles area?
