Apple pie, warm-enough-to-melt-cornish-icecream-in-five-minutes temperature, with a small helping of cream on top to seep into the pastry while the icecream is busy melting...

Have you tried an original apple pie? It's actually an apple and onion pie, and is savoury and very delicious. Although apple pie is still very good.

I had a great pie once. Can't remember what was in it, but it had groats soaked in cider on top. Best pie I've ever had.

Maybe one would be if you eat that after over indulging on the sherry! But, unhealthy as it may be... I think its delicious. Can't wait to try making one soon when I have the time! :)

We can talk about anything if you want, but why not apple or fruit pie? I'm used to real (ie. meat) pies but I'm partial to a little fruit pie myself.

but apple/fruit pies.... there's just something about them. i think its the same reason why i don't like sultanas or raisins - there's a strange sweetness to them that my pallete just doesn't like. with apple pies there's that and a weird bittersweet thing going on, and its just too weird.
plus the texture of fruit pies (and especially christmas pudding, even though that's not a pie per se) is eeeeww.

And there's something to be said for shaved, as well.

I like just about all fruit pies, but apple and pumpkin are my favorite, other than chocolate pie of some kind.
As far as meat pies, the only kind I've had is chicken pot pie, which is good. I don't think any other type would be, though.
