The story just broke (http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/blogs/politicalticker/2007/01/giuliani-aide-complains-of-dirty-trick.html) on CNN. A journalist for the New York Daily News got a hold of Giuliani's 2008 campaign strategy, a 140-page document that was apparently lost, found by an anonymous source, and photocopied while Giuliani was on a fund raising tour.

The papers outline budget goals and political strategies, and also covers some of the pitfalls Giuliani may face, including his support for social freedoms and his own domestic past.

The journalist is won't disclose all the contents, but is keeping the documents "in a safe place" for now.

So, what do you think this will do to Giuliani's campaign? Do you think it will prompt him to officially enter the race early? Will the disclosure of his strategies hurt him in the long run?

He doesn’t stand a chance anyway. He’s not a bigot.

I saw an article on AOL about this and it mostly said his strategy consisted of raising a huge amount of money and wooing away rich contributors from the other candidates, like McCain. This early, I doubt it will hurt him at all.

Yeah, it seems like a "duh" kind of story to me. What the hell else is Giuliani planning to do?

Cannot think of a name

It does seem like getting a race car drivers strategy and finding out it's 'Go faster than everyone else.'

Seems kinda 'meh.'

Like he stands a chance...the guy has too many bad marks...like what happened during his divorce...too much dirt...he'll get ripped to shreds.

Like that bit from "Better Off Dead," huh? At the top of the ski slope, the advice they give to John Cusack to make it down?

At 140 pages, I'd hope it'd have at least a little substance...

No, but he lived with two gay guys for a while when he first moved out of gracie mansion. (Before his divorce was finalized).

I can't imagine that playing very well in parts of this country.

Depends on the kind of paper they used. If they used the good stuff to print it, instead of just copier/printer crap, well ...

I was making a joke--thus the big ass grinning smiley. Hell, the video is of a promo spot Giuliani did in drag where he supposedly makes out with Donald Trump--how seriously can anyone take that?

Of course, normally I would say that it was the corruption and the nepotism thing that would kill him. But these days that seems par for the course not only in NYC, but everywhere else as well. So I doubt that anyone cares about that.

I cannot be the only one scared that, in the United States, 'support for social freedoms' is a pitfall.
