I have decided that I want to live in Canada, go to school there, gain citizenship, and never look back.

Would Canada be a better place to live, than USA?

Any good art (photography) schools in Canada?

Why hell do you want to go to Canada? No offense to Canada or Canadians, but they are basically the US with the crappier economy and an obession with hockey. Me thinks you should stay in the US.

Canada has a 'crappier' economy because we don't have Mexicans crossing over to work for slave wages.

Well well...

I am of Mexican decent and a Texan to boot
I would love Canada except at my age it is a bit cold
I dig the universal health care idea that the greatest country in the world (USA) still cannot figure out how to accomplish
Neither Mexico nor Canada invades sovereign Nations
Aside from the racism I think that the biggest problem Americans have with Mexicans is the fact that most Mexicans can survive at menial wage and yet still contribute to a family of four while driving a kick ass pickup truck
And trust me, the Mexicans realize how great the USA is or we would not be here

I've been to Canada. It's a beautiful country, the people are great, the currency is a damn sight better looking than ours. Except for being somewhat more socialistic, and colder than the US its a very nice place. I don't think I would want to live there, but I damn sure plan on visiting again.

Edit: and thier health care system is first rate. The US would do well to emulate it.

economy is booming(extreme shortage of labour to fill positions)we are even going to Mexico to recruit workers

universal health care is awesome (despite what you may hear I can see a doctor today if I wish)we live two years longer than americans at half the cost

low crime-I've never met anyone carrying a gun other than police or hunters

very tolerant society

art schools, Emily Carr, ACAD, two that come to mind there are more....

I love hearing people talk about how cold Canada is. I live at about the same latitude as Toronto and winters here aren't unbearable. Not only that we have the Great Lakes on 3 sides of us, so we get a bit of lake effect snow, and it's still tolerable.

Since the system is public, stupid people don't care about getting injured because everyone's tax dollars will pay for it.

Bugging out? After all America has done for you, you're just going to walk away from it all? :D

Anyway, if you're looking for good art schools, you should check out Toronto. This ultra-liberal girl I knew from high school moved there and enrolled at the Ontario College of Art & Design. She's "never looked back" so I think things have worked out for her over there and it may just be the sort of place you're looking for. But it's a small school, so if you prefer a bigger student body there's always Ryerson, York, U of T, and some other places.

My life goal is somewhat similar, I want to emigrate to Europe.

I tentatively have the same goal. I lived in Germany for 2 years and really liked it, but that was as a soldier, not a civilian. I'm going to be spending 4 months in France starting next month (26 days until I leave!) so we'll see how I like life as a student in Europe.
